Challenge Summary

Welcome to “Mobile Application for Technical Support Storyboard” contest.  Technical Support refers to a line of business that provides technical support services to customers as defined by product warranties and contractual service agreements. The goal of this project is to create a mobile application that will allow technical support specialists in the field interact with the call management system that manages their work. In this contest, we need your help to create a new look and feel for this mobile application using our existing wireframes.

At the end of this contest, we are looking clean storyboard design that focused on efficiency, usability, and will work in low bandwiths situations.

Contest Details :

This application will be build as mobile browser application, which means this application will not tied to a specific mobile platform. In this contest, we need your help to design several pages from our wireframes, these are the pages list that needs to be designed :

14.    Notification to informed user when they get disconnected while using the application (new requirements, the notification design should be easily put in any page of the application).

Branding Guidelines :
1.    There are no corporate standards currently in affect for mobile web applications. For this contest you may reference IBM's current web design standards as guidelines, but they will need to be adjusted to work within the small form factor of a phone, PDA or tablet. Design requirements :
Font : Open to designer, do not use too many font in your submission, stay consistent, make sure the font is available and ready to use, be aware of your font deliveries, IMPORTANT, if you don’t have permission to distribute the font, send us some notes in your submission folder explaining where we can purchanse the font, otherwise your submission will be rejected.  
Color : Follow IBM Standards above.
Size : The storyboard size should support various mobile platform device, so fluid design much more recommended.

Important :
-    This application will be build as mobile browser application and will be use on many mobile platform, please consider and create your design that can fulfill this requirement.

-    There might be a chance this application will be use in different situation where there’s a chance user will go through low bandwith situation, consider to create design that can be use in this situation.

-  In some situations the user will be disconnected from the internet and will be working with data that is cached locally. This capabilitiy should have minimal impact on the user interface, but options to refresh lists or notifications that the network is not available may be required. this behaviour is not appear in attached wireframes, this is new requirement that we wants to be appear in your submission.

Target Audiences :
-    Support service representatives will use this application when in the field and trying to provide support for the service requests.

Judging Criteria
Your submission will be judged on the following criteria:
1.    Cleanliness of your graphic design.
2.    User experience.
3.    How well your design fulfill the concept of efficiency, usability and worked in low bandwith situations.
4.    How well your design can be adopted into different mobile platform.

Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
All Requested Contest Submission Requirements stated above. Files should be saved as JPG/PNG format.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator and saved as layered PSD or AI file.

Final Fix :
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
