Challenge Overview
Styx is a company that manufactures and sells fire and security alarm systems. As a part of the sales / installation process for adding new fire alarm devices at new or existing clients, the client goes through a process of first estimating the devices to be installed using a CAD drawing. Once the device installation plan is created, the information is transferred to a separate thick client application that lists the device types (model / version / etc). In the current workflow of the installation process, a list of the devices that are to be installed onsite are printed out on a spreadsheet from the thick client application. During the installation, the barcodes and serial number from the physical devices are added to the spreadsheet to match the actual device with the devices.
The goal of the application created for this project is to create a Android based mobile application that will be used onsite during the installation process to replace the spreadsheet that is currently used.
The goal of this copilot project is to create a Proof of concept / Prototype for this application.
