Challenge Summary

Welcome to the 2013 Topcoder Open Banner Design Contest. We are looking for 4 banners for the 2013 edition of the TopCoder Open. These banners need to promote the TCO13 and its sponsors to TopCoder and Studio members, and get them geared up for next year's event in Washington DC!


Contest Details
The goal of this contest is to design banners for the 2013 TopCoder Open, to be placed at the top of TopCoder and TopCoder Studio pages. They should use colors and elements from the provided TCO13 logo; and must visually draw attention to themselves on the page.

Banner Requirements
- You will be designing 3 (three) banners at this size: 510px x 114px
- And 1 (one) banner at 782x175 for the TopCoder Studio homepage (http://studio.topcoder.com) 
- All the banners must say 2013 TopCoder Open/TCO13 (or you can use only the logo for the text) The logos may be sized however you see fit in your designs as long as you maintain the correct aspect ratio. They may not be skewed, altered or have any effects added to them. 
- Please use only the colors or complementary colors from the provided TCO13 logo(TCO13_Logo.eps)
- All banners should have no text other than the specified content for each, and the TCO logo/2013 TopCoder Open text.


Banner 1:
Required at: 510x114px AND 782x175px
The text on this banner should say "Register Now". This is to encourage members of the TopCoder community to participate in the 2013 TCO and register. It will be placed in the top area of http://community.topcoder.com/tcOn click, this will take the user to the TCO13 website.
The larger version of this banner (782x175px) will be for the Studio Homepage - see the current banner there for placement reference. This should contain the same text ("Register Now") and should encourage users to register for the TCO13.

Banner 2:
Required at: 510x114px
The text on this banner should say "Sponsored by". For this sponsor banner, please use a logo placeholder. The Sponsor logos (once placed) should be the most prominent elements in the design. It will be placed in the top area of http://community.topcoder.com/tc.On click, this will take the user to the relevant sponsor page on the TCO13 website.


Banner 3:
Required at: 510x114px
The text on this banner should say "Program, Photos, Blog, and Videos". It will be placed in the top area of http://community.topcoder.com/tc.On click, this will lead to the TCO13 website.

Remember, your banner needs to stand out. If you choose to use white as a background color, please make sure to add a border to your banner.

Colors
Please use only the colors From the provided TCO13 logo(TCO13_Logo.eps) or complementary colors to this.

Fonts
Fonts are open to the designer with the exception of the Bank Gothic font. Please be aware of font delivery requirements.

Preview Image

Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place your submissions within it. 

Contest Deliverables
Submission File
All requested Contest Deliverables in JPG or PNG file format in RGB color mode at 72dpi.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be saved as layered PSD files or AI/EPS files.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify colors or fonts.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
