Challenge Summary

Welcome to “Topcoder – Mobile Application Project Infographic” contest.  As one of world's largest competitive community for software development and digital creation, Topcoder provides many solutions for their customer and can customize a program to fit their unique business. However, sometimes  potential customer didn’t know what they are looking for and gets confused with all solutions that Topcoder offers. To increase clients understanding about Topcoder solution, Topcoder needs to create some marketing material about example project they can offer to customer so potential client can easily understands what solutions that match with their needs. The goal of this contest is to create clean and simple infographics about mobile application project  (step by steps) as one of solutions that Topcoder offers to solve clients problem.

At the end of this contest, we’re looking for clean, simple and strong infographic that can easily describe the steps involved in a small mobile application project to potential customer through visualization and appropriate graphics.

Topcoder is looking to their Studio community to come up with some fresh ways to visually represent information about mobile application project as one of  example solution that Topcoder can offers to their potential customer. The infographic should contains flows about step by step contest that involved in mobile application projects. The information that needs to be presented in this infographic can be found below :

1.    Infographic Title, use title “Simple Mobile Application Project”. Create some mobile phone icons vector design to presenting the title.

2.    General Infographic Description Text :
-    Beyond the management of the application development, someone at the client will need to either handle the app store submission or provide access to the copilot to manage it.
-    The target platform for this project aim for mobile browser or phonegap type of cross platform app.

3.    Three Contest Steps (flow) :
-    First Contest, Web Designs, Items/Roles needs to be added :
      -    Participants - client, copilot, graphic designer as competitor, spec reviewer, screener, PM.
      -    UX and/or Project Lead – spends time communicating with copilot about design direction and reviewing selecting  less or more than 10 design submissions.
      -    Technology (illustrator, photoshop).
      -    Time Duration (1 – 2 weeks)
      -    Extra paragraph text (dummy “lorem ipsum” text is fine)
      -     Icons for web design roles

-    Second Contest, UI Prototype, Items/Roles needs to be added :
      -    Participants - client, copilot, Front End Developer as competitor, spec reviewer, reviewer, PM.
      -    UX and/or Project Lead - Acceptance of final reviewed html/css/js prototype.  Communicate any desired changes.
      -    Technology (xhtml, html5, css, javascript).
      -    Time Duration (1 – 2 weeks)
      -    Extra paragraph text (dummy “lorem ipsum” text is fine)
      -    Icons for UI Prototype roles


-    Third Contest, Assembly, Items/Roles needs to be added :
      -    Participants - client, copilot, Software Developer as competitor, spec reviewer, reviewer, PM.
      -    Project/Technical Lead  – Acceptance of final reviewed working app.  Communicate any desired changes.
      -    Technology (Java, PHP, etc).
      -    Time Duration (1 – 2 weeks)
      -    Extra paragraph text (dummy “lorem ipsum” text is fine)
      -    Icons for UI Prototype roles


Branding Guidelines :
Color : Open to designer.
Fonts :  Open to designer, Please be aware of font delivery requirement.
Size : Open to designer, but your infographic should be easily scaled to fit powerpoint presentation (powerpoint presentation scale size is 1024x768px).
Icons : All icons/graphic design elements must be create using your own effort.

Your submission will be judged on the following criteria:
- How well you represent / convey information in your infographic design.
- Cleanliness and creativity of your infographics design.


Submission and Source Files:
Preview JPG/PNG Image File
- Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission
- All requested contest requirements stated above - PNG or JPG files plus your document explaining the infographic - TXT, PDF, DOC, DOCX, RTF files are acceptable.

Source file
- All requested Contest Requirements stated above, saved as layered PSD/AI files.

Final Fixes
- As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your infographic.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

Screening:

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
