Challenge Summary

Welcome TopCoder Roadshow Updates. We need to apply quick design updates to the current TopCoder Roadshow Landing Page. You’ll be provided with a storyboard design (one single page) and you’ll deliver some fixes we need, it’s that simple.

Round 1

For your R1 deliverables please submit your Landing Page screen for client review.

Round 2

Final design will contain your Landing Page screen plus any updates from client feedback.

The primary goal of this contest is to update the current design of the TopCoder Roadshow landing page. This project vision is focused on visiting several U.S. cities during the year, providing educational conferences and building relationships with potential TopCoder clients.

Branding and Guidelines
- Use the attached landing page as base for your work. All the page elements must keep their current dimensions.
- Your design must stay 1024 pixels wide screen resolution.
- Use web-safe fonts for the page content.
- Stock images are allowed (see instructions below) but we prefer to see original artwork.

Landing Page Required Updates

1) Replace the main graphic with something NEW, fresh, cooler. Your design must stay the same size (height) than the current one.
The main graphic should convey Washington, D.C. (which is the destination for this event). This doesn’t necessarily mean you have to use an outline, it can be different! It could be something cultural about Washington that you convey in your design, the choice is yours!
There are different approaches you could apply when comes about the U.S. capital city. See these references about landmarks and memorials of the city for inspiration: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington,_D.C. | http://www.factmonster.com/ipka/A0772993.html

2) Remove “Education Business Government”. Create a prominent text for main title “STEM, Gov 2.0, Analytics & Data”.

3) Remove “Energizing Open Innovation – The Future of work and innovation starts here”. Create proper headline for “Open Innovation and Government - The Future of Productivity and American Competitiveness”.

4) Redesign the register button (the green one). We want it to represent the transition of government in this digital era from “paper” to “digital”. This new button should have the following text (arrange them as you like): “Washington D.C.”, “October 30th”, “Register”. Remember, we want a NEW button, don’t skin or change the texts only.

5) At the bottom middle box, replace “What is EOI?” with “The Power of Data & Analytics”. Place lorem ipsum text as content.

6) At the bottom right box, replace “Success Stories?” with “Gov 2.0”. Place lorem ipsum text as content.

7) You’re free to propose another background for the bottom boxes. Just skin, don’t change the box dimensions.

8) Change the overall color scheme to mimic a patriotic look, U.S. flag colors, but do it slightly darker red/blue we see a lot lately, like the
Olympics overall U.S. outfits.
