Challenge Summary

Welcome to TC Cockpit Tasks Management Storyboard Design contest.

TopCoder plans to add a new concept called Task into the Cockpit, so people that working on a project can create tasks list and task under project and assign the task to other people. This allows for better project collaboration and tracking. In this contest, we need your help to design a storyboard for this new concept using provided wireframe. You are required to use Cockpit GUI Kit while designing your solution so it will consistent with current look and feel of the Cockpit.

At the end of this contest we are looking for a friendly, intuitive and easy to use storyboard with current look and feel of the Cockpit.

Round 1

You need to submit all required screens.

Round 2

You need to submit all required screens and fix your solution based on feedback given at milestone phase.


General Guidelines

- Wireframe contains the basic flow of what you need to design in this contest.

Although we provided the wireframe, we are still looking for any ideas you have to improve the storyboard. Feel free to include any ideas you have, no restrictions and include notes about it.

We also attached Cockpit GUI Kit. Please follow this kit for the look and feel of your design elements. Use the header and footer from the cockpit page like what is showed in the GUI Kit.

- Design icons or graphics to make your design stand out than others. All the graphics need to have the same feeling and look and feel on the current Cockpit pages or the GUI kit.

Please provide hover condition for buttons, links, or images in the storyboard to help us better understand in reviewing the storyboard.

Provide any notes about your design or each elements to help us better understand the storyboard.

Number your screens and put screen names in your submission file to help us easily reviewing.

 

Design Requirements

There is only 1 page you need to design in this contest (Refer to Wireframe). Please explore the wireframe to view all functionality and modal windows that wireframe has. You can use provided template for designing storyboard. Following are some details about functionality that is shown in wireframe:

- In the top sidebar, after add button is clicked, shows a confirmation windows that task is successfully added.

- In the top sidebar, clicks More Details will be shown a modal windows for adding a task. In File section shows example of 3 files that will be added to the task.

- In View drop down list, shows an example screen that shows task based on selected option. If Project Tasks is selected, shows only a list of Project Task. If Task List 1 is selected, shows only a list of Task List 1.

- In Group By drop down list, shows an example screen that shows task based on selected grouping option.

- Shows an example screen if Edit link is activated.

Judging Criteria

- Completeness of your solution. All required functionaliy in wireframe should be addressed in your design.

- How well your design follow Cockpit GUI Kit.

- How professional your UI designed, consistent, clean and creative.

 

Submission Deliverables

Following are all items you need to provide in your submission:

Preview Image

Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File

Please upload PNG/JPEG images in a zip file with all requested contest requirements stated above.

Source Files

All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator (or equivalent) and saved as layered PSD/AI files.

 

Final Fixes

As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics, images (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
