Challenge Summary

Welcome to “Forecast Applications Conversion Wireframes” Contest. Our clients have two small forecast applications created in ms access and works very well in their company. However, support for these applications has become non-existent and the company no longer able to provide support for these applications. This project purpose is to fully rewrite and replace those applications from MS Access platform to a modern web application. In this contest, we need your help to create workflow for these 2 (two) small applications that following web style behaviour but still accomodate all functionality as stated in Specification documents.

At the end of this contest, we would like to see 2 (two) wireframes that optimizing the applications user experienced and fully replace all functionality from old application to the new application.

Round 1

- Initial submission for Forecast Unit Cost Tool wireframes (View Homepage, Get Help, Manage Unit Cost Data).
- Initial submission for Forecast Volume Tool wireframes (View Homepage, Get Help,  Manage Volume Data).

Round 2

All contest requirements as stated in contest details with clients feedback applied


There are two small applications that needs to be converted from MS Access into Web application, they are called Forecast Unit Cost Tool (MS_Access_Forecast_Unit_Cost_Tool_ARS.pdf) and Forecast Volume Tool (MS_Access_Forecast_Volume_Tool_ARS.pdf). Here are the requirements that needs to be created in this contest :

1.    Forecast Unit Cost Tool (MS_Access_Forecast_Unit_Cost_Tool_ARS.pdf)
  - View Homepage (2.01)
  - Get Help (2.02)
  - Manage Unit Cost Data (2.03 - 2.11)
  - Manage Override Unit Cost Data (2.12 - 2.16)

2.    Forecast Volume Tool (MS_Access_Forecast_Volume_Tool_ARS.pdf)
  - View Homepage (2.01)
  - Get Help (2.02)
  - Manage Volume Data (2.03 - 2.09)

BRANDING GUIDELINES :
1. For this contest, you need to follow IBM design pattern for any web layout elements, the references documents can be found online from this link : http://www.topcoder.com/ibm/v17-A-v1t/pokgsa.ibm.com/~uxguy/public/standards/site/v17_cov_draft_ws/index_list.htm
2. CCA (Competition Confidentiality Agreement) is required. If you have a signed CCA on file, send the access request to: support@topcoder.com, dhessing@topcoder.com and fajar,mln@gmail.com.

Target Audience
There will be 2 kind of audiences that will use these application, which are :
-    Forecast Cost Administrator (User for Forecast Unit Cost Tool) -  This person is responsible for using the tool and the input data to create a unit cost file to be used by the monthly outlook process.
-    Forecast Volumes Administrator (User for Forecast Volume Tool) – This person is responsible for using the tool and the input data to create a volume (and price) file to be used by the monthly outlook process.
Note : each application only have one user roles.

Judging Criteria
Your submission will be judged on the following criteria:
-    User Experience
-    Completeness and accuracy of the wireframe as defined in the requirements.
-    How well your wireframes provide a consistent user flow
-    How well you implement the required data and any suggestions, interactions and user flow you recommend (provide any notes or comments for the client)

Submission & Source Files
Preview Image
Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Generated HTML files with all the requested contest requirements stated above.

Source Files
Wireframes should be built in Axure. The resulting files should have generated HTML files. Also, all the content must be listed and the pages are linked together to show page flow.

Final Fixes
As part of the Final Fix phase, you may be asked to remove, update, or change some features of the wireframe.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and final fixes (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
