Challenge Summary

The client for this project is a luxury retail company with an emphasis on customer service.  They have over 20 years of customer data, and have a history of success by taking an analytical approach to growing their business.  The client is seeking to continue their proven business strategy and is looking to leverage their customer data in new ways to grow the business.

In this Idea Generation contest, we are looking for your ideas on how the client can use this data to improve their business.  Samples of the data are provided so you can see what type of data is available to work with.  We are open to a wide variety of ideas, including building some type of application to analyze the data OR ways to analyze the data using the TopCoder platform (such as a Marathon Match).

Round 1

For Round 1, you are expected to submit your completed idea, including:  Idea details and how the idea will benefit the client. The clients will review the submissions and select milestone winners. They may also post feedback and / or ask questions.

Round 2

For Round 2, you are expected to submit your completed idea again. At this point, you may have made changes to your idea, based on any feedback from the client (if applicable).

Your submission should be primarily or entirely textual, containing a detailed description of your ideas for using the available data.

There is a 6 submission limit for number of submissions you can make, and you should only make multiple submissions if each one is comprehensive and substantially different from your others. Within these constraints, you are free to describe alternative approaches and extra features. In fact, we encourage you to do so. You can't have too many ideas!

Target Audience
The target audience will be the client and their employees or customers.

Judging Criteria
You will be judged on the quality of the idea and how much benefit it can provide for the client. You will also be judged on how clearly you describe your idea.
