Challenge Summary

Welcome back to the continuation of 2013 TopCoder Open Storyboard Contest! As the premier TopCoder annual event, TCO sites has exciting websites that showcase the event, the details, and all the fun stuff that goes along with it. The 2013 TopCoder Open website is the first glimpse of the exciting tournament that TopCoder members, sponsors, and prospect clients have of this exciting event.

For this contest we already have the initial storyboard design done (please download the provided PSD source files). We are looking for completion of storyboard designs of the other pages outlined below that will be an input in the upcoming Prototype contest.

Round 1

1) Your submitted design solution of requirements of the following pages for a review.
- Registration and Login

- Sponsorship Main Page

2) Any note for the client about your submission

Primary Goal & Design Considerations

The goal of this contest is to complete as much as possible the unique pages of http://community.topcoder.com/tco13/. or at least the pages outlined below.

Design Considerations
- The overall design and the intended page transition of the provided storyboard should be maintained at all times.
- Though we already have the overall design, we are still looking to highlight the content section of the required pages
- Follow the BLUE/GREEN theme not the red one. The red theme is only provided for reference especially on the page transition.
- Follow the size of the provided storyboard.
- Add scrollbars to the sections incase its content will overflow with the available space.

Requirements

Below are the pages that needs to be present in your submission:

  1. Registration and Login
    - reference content of this requirement is from the TCO13 site, to show the modal, you need to do this:
    -- open the site using Chrome browser in incognito window or in Firefox Private Browsing
    -- click the "Register" button, this will show the "Join the Event!" modal window
    - for this requirement, you need to create the "Join the Event!" form, the form with error message, and with success message.

  2. Algorithm Leaderboard Page
    - reference content of the page will be the TCO12 Algorithm Leaderboard page.
    - items to include are:
    -- tertiary navigation
    -- the leaderboard table inlcuding its search filter and pagination
    -- the sidebar will display event sponsors and forum post feed

  3. Studio Leaderboard Page
    - reference content of this page will be the TCO13 Studio Leaderboard page
    - this leaderboard will have 4 Periods but you only need to design the details of Period 1 tab
    - items to include are:
    -- tertiary navigation
    -- the leaderboard table inlcuding its search filter and pagination
    -- the sidebar will display event sponsors and forum post feed

  4. Blog Page
    - reference content of this page will be the TCO12 Blog page
    - main content will display regular Wordpress blog post articles
    - the sidebar content will include month filter selection, category filter selection, event sponsors, and forum post feed

  5. Blog Details Page
    - reference content of this page will be the TCO12 Blog Details page
    - main content will display Wordpress blog detail post article.
    - there should be a feature for social sharing and "Disqus Reactions", a sample implementation of this Wordpress plugin can be seen at the bottom of this page.
    - the sidebar content will event sponsors and forum post feed

  6. Final Result Page
    - reference content of this page is from the TCO12 Mod Dash Final Result page
    - need to highlight or showcase the picture of the winner as well as its interview.
    - sidebar will have the event sponsors and forum post feed.

  7. Sponsorship Main Page
    - reference content of this page is the TCO12 Sponsorship page
    - this page should at least showcase the Event sponsors, Type of Sponsors, and maybe news item

  8. Sponsorship About Page
    - reference content of this page is the TCO12 About Sponsorship page.
    - this page showcase the benefits of being a sponsor fo the event

  9. Sponsorship Type Page
    - reference content of this page is the TCO12 Platinum Sponsor page.
    - there are 3 different types of sponsors, namely: Platinum, Gold, and Silver
    - for this requirement, you just need to create at least the Platinum Sponsor page.

  10. Sponsorship Contact Page
    - reference content of this page is the TCO12 Sponsorship Contact US page
    - this page should at least have the contact form, phone number, and email info.

- use the provided storyboard overall look and feel

Judging Criteria
- Usability: Will this design be easy for all users to find what they need? Does it call out important information?
- Concept: We're looking for something new and fresh!

Submission & Source Files
Preview Image
Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Please upload PNG/JPEG images in a zip file with all requested contest requirements stated above.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator and saved as layered PSD/AI files.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics, images (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.
