IMPORTANT GENERAL Icon Requirements:
-Icons should be of sizes 64x64 32x32 16x16
-The icons are for our hospitality access control product. If any context needs to be shown in the icons it must reflect a ‘hotel’ or ‘hospitality’ context
-Icons should not contain English specific text as the application needs to be localized to several languages
-Icons should reflect a modern style such as Icons used in iOS and Windows 7
-Icons should have a consistent style.
-The icons will be used in a business application.
-Application is used in time critical application. Customers usually are zipping through menus to perform functions. Icons should be distinguishable.
-The icons shouldn't be cartoonish.
-Icons should not be glossy
-We do not want any type of border around the icon.
-We do not want single color icons.
-The background should be transparent.

IMPORTANT Submission Requirements:
-For both Round 1 and Round 2, We request you to submit all icons in sizes 64x64, 32x32, 16x16 individually in PNG (Transparent background) format. So totally 54 icons as PNG's.
-Also please submit your icons arranged in sheet (black & white background) as shown in the example image.

ICON Requirements:
we require the following icons for the NGHSB Application,

A. Quick Access Bar:
The Quick Access bar icons are shown in the home screen which is displayed as a vertical ‘quick action’ bar to perform the most common functions in a hotel.

The background for these icons is currently white. We do not foresee this changing but once the icon is selected the background can change (gold in this case), so please make sure to have this in mind while designing your icons (See attached Home Screen which shows the Guest Checkin icon in Gold background).

7 Icons in Quick Access bar and their functionalities:
#1: Guest checkin:
This is first step that is done when a new guest requires a room. So Admin will click this icon to Checkin a guest and issue a card to him for room access

#2: Guest Checkout:
Check out a guest and mark the room as free

#3: Guest Copy:
Copy a card for a guest, This operation is used in case the guest requires another card or loses his card. So clicking it will allow the admin to create a copy of the card to access the room.

#4: Single Opening Card:
This is the card that when issued for a room will only work once.

#5: Read & erase card:
The card is read through a reader and then it displays the information on a card and the admin erases it if necessary.

#6: Hotel information:
Display a summary of the status of the rooms in the hotel and other appropriate information about the Hotel.

#7: Room Availability:
Clicking on this icon launches a screen to determine whether a room is available for renting. So the screen displays the room numbers with their availability status.

B. System Specific Icons:
We need the following icons that are very specific to our system, See below for more specific information about the icons.

11 Icons for System Specific Actions and their functionalities:
#1: Encoder:
A Device that can take a card and encode data on it so a customer can activate the door lock and enters a room.

#2: Wall Reader:
A device that is mounted on a wall can read an access control card and open a door.

#3: Portable Programmer:
A hand held device (such as a PDA, laptop or a tablet) that can interact with a door lock and exchange data

#4: Occupied Room:
A room that has a guest in it.

#5: Empty Room:
A room that has no guests in it.

#6: Out of service Room:
A room that cannot be rented out to a guest.

#7: Device is communicating:
A device that has a network connection back to the system is communicating ok.

#8: Device not communicating:
A device that has a network connection back to the system is not communicating.

#9: Device communications unknown:
Cannot determine the status of the communications for a device.

#10: Low Batteries:
A device is reporting low batteries.

#11: Device needs updating:
Something in the device needs to be updated.

Specific Notes about the System Specific Icons:
These are new icons which do not currently exist. For specific names that indicates the name Device, it could indicate any of several devices: a door lock, a wall reader, an encoder … so rather than focusing on the device part we need to focus on the communicating status so for example: for ‘Device not communicating’ it could be something like an symbol for a network with a red bar through it - If you have other creative ideas please show us.
