Challenge Summary

Welcome to Microbac - Customer Web Portal Wireframe Contest.

Microbac is a commercial laboratory testing company that performs variaty testing service for their customer. Some services provided by them are environmental testing of air, food testing, agrochemical testing, physical and consumer product testing, antimicrobial efficacy testing and pharmaceutical testing. Currently there are four Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) that client have to manage these testing operations and they want to define an efficient solution for providing central data from these 4 LIMS for their customer to gather the service results.

We already have a Conceptualization Document that defined the solution. In this contest we need your help to create wireframe based on provided document. At the end of this contest we are looking for a process flow and layout design of the functionality mentioned in document. This application must have all requirement functionality, user friendly, intuitive and easy to use.

Round 1

You need to submit a wireframe for Customer Functionality.

Round 2

You need to submit wireframe for Customer, Administrator and Project Manager functionality and fix your solution based on feedback from milestone phase.


Project Overview

Microbac is an analytical laboratory testing firm that seeks to leverage a customer care portal that will attract, engage, convert and retain customers to increase top line revenue growth. Through the use of customization and personalization, Microbac will engage and allowing their customer to quickly locate the information they need. Microbac is certain that improving access to information, demonstrating thought leadership in its online offering and improving customer care will increase the likelihood that a customer will return to the site and continue to do business. There are currently 4 LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) used by the customers to manage laboratory operations. The main goal of this project is to define an efficient solution for providing central data from these LIMS for the customers to gather service results.

 

General Requirements

Following are general notes you should keep in mind while you are creating the wireframe:

- Your solution must be useful so it can save web designer time and energy. All pages/elements must linked each others and must show correct flow.

- The application must be easy to use and intuitive.

- The application is a web-based application.

- Your solution must implements all functionalities that are explained in attached Conceptualization Document. You should use it as a guide, but if there is a better way to display any information, feel free to reflected it in your solution.

- You must use wireframe note pane in every single page you design, to explain what all items are addressed in that page, what things you added/changed/removed, use it to make your idea clearer and help us to give you constructive feedback.

- We suggest you to follow high level requirements details with use case diagram, it is provided in contest document.

 

Wireframe Requirements

Following are general information and functionalities must be implemented in your solution. For more details please refer to Section 4 in Conceptualization Document, you must implement all functionalities from section 4.4.1 to 4.4.41

- Customer functionality. The customer can perform login/logout, manage projects, manage results, manage invoices etc. See section 4.4.1 to to 4.4.30 for its details.

- Project Manager functionality. The project manager can perform administration on the user account (lock, unlock or reset password), control access permission, provide project related message to customer etc. See section 4.4.31 to 4.4.36 for its details.

- Administrator functionality. This is a client's company administrator which can fully manage application, database and user accounts. See section 4.4.37 to 4.4.41 for its details.

 

Target Audience

- Customers, their background varies from staff in food production to consultant engineers to environmental scientists.

- Project Managers, they are Microbac employees who facilitate and coordinate testing services.

- Administrators, they are Microbac employees who can fully manage application, database and user account.

 

Judging Criteria

- User Experience.

- Completeness and accuracy of the wireframe as defined in conceptualization document.

 

Submission Deliverables

Preview Image

Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission Files

Wireframes should be built in HTML or Axure. The most important point is that all the content is listed and the pages are linked together to show page flow. Keep your source files out from this submission folder.

Source Files

All original source files of the submitted ideas. If you would like to submit notes please include notes.txt file.


Final Fixes

As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify content or user click paths.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
