Challenge Summary

Welcome TopCoder Roadshow Updates. We need to apply quick design updates to the current TopCoder Roadshow Landing Page. You’ll be provided with a storyboard design (one single page) and you’ll deliver some fixes we need, it’s that simple.

Round 1

For your R1 deliverables please submit your Landing Page screen/s for client review.

Round 2

Final design will contain your Landing Page screen/s plus any updates from client feedback.

The primary goal of this contest is to update the current design of the TopCoder Roadshow landing page. This project vision is focused on visiting several U.S. cities during the year, providing educational conferences and building relationships with potential TopCoder clients.

The main graphic design is based on showing some landmarks/scenarios of the city where the event is being held on. So far we’ve visited Minnesota, Orlando and Washington. This time we need to design a theme for Houston, TX.

Branding and Guidelines
- Use the attached landing page as base for your work. All the page elements must keep their current dimensions.
- Your design must stay 1024 pixels wide screen resolution.
- Use web-safe fonts for the page content.
- Stock images are allowed (see instructions below) but we prefer to see original artwork.

Landing Page Required Updates
1. Road Show Update
- Replace the main graphic with something TOTALLY NEW. Your design must stay the same size (height) than the current one. Colors are up to you, don’t be afraid to use colors in this area.
- The main graphic should convey Houston, Texas. It could be something cultural about Houston that you convey in your design, the choice is yours!
- There are different approaches you could apply when comes about the city. See these references about landmarks for inspiration:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Houston
http://voices.yahoo.com/top-10-most-popular-landmarks-houston-texas-4162341.html?cat=16
- Replace the title/subtitles with “Open Innovation & Crowdsourcing”, “Powering the Next Generation of Production and Innovation”, “Energy, Algorithms, and New Solutions”.
- Add “Houston TX, March 12th, 2013” as location of the event inside/along the main graphic.
- Add “8:30am - 2pm” as time of the event inside/along the main graphic.
- Redesign the register button (the red one). Make it feel part of your new design.
- Redesign the container of the three bottom text holders to make them feel part of your main graphic design. You’re free to propose another background for the bottom boxes. Just skin, don’t change the box sizes.

2. TopCoder Layout Update
We need to update this sub-site to the new TopCoder website look, check the PSD GUI Kit for visual reference. It’s quite simple, you just have to do the following:
- Use Page_Temaplate.psd. Keep the header and footer. You have to insert the Road Show sub-site in the content area that you previously designed in “1 Road Show Update”.
- After placing your design, make the proper adjustments to make it feel part of the TopCoder site, such as navigation menu, logo placement, etc.

Notice you will deliver two versions. The first version must show the overall update in the current look and feel of the Road Show site. The second version must show the Road Show elements on the same look and feel of the TopCoder overall layout.

Target Audience
Current and potential TopCoder customers, innovation leaders, business professionals.
