Business to Business (B2B)
Wikipedia Link
We should all be familiar with E-commerce site design (online shopping carts etc). This contest is focused on companies purchasing products from other companies. This means most traditional "shopping cart" ideas will work but a business user is also looking for "site tools" like account/user management, finding orders, bill payment etc. Most B2B transactions/sales are not for individual items but for bulk items (large quantities of items)

Design Concepts Consideration:
1. Page Layout
- Research existing B2B applications and design trends
- Research page/layout design grids - what should our screen size be?
- Look at existing B2B sites and review what is cutting edge and new
- No restrictions! Except your design should look nice and sharp graphically

2. Color Scheme
- Blue, White, Gray, Yellow
- Recommend to us how the colors should be used (combination) and we will provide feedback at the Milestone

3. Navigation
Users Home Screen (after logging in)
- Orders
- Payments
- My Account
- Quotes
- Help
- Locations (warehouse)
- Shopping Cart
- Search (product search)
- Product Category Listings (list of product categories)

4. Search - very important!
- The main feature of this application to to search and find car parts!
- An effective and user-friendly search function is crucial for most users will attempt to find content.

5. Shopping Cart
- The main objective of shopping cart page is to lead the customer to the checkout

6. Product Catalog
- The user should be able to search within large product catalog of "parts" and drill down to the category or product they are looking for
- Products should be displayed in search results as lists or grids
- Research design solutions for the catalog

7. Product Details
- Very important page!
- Page should show multiple images of the product
- Page should show details about the product
- Research and capture what details you think should be shown on the Product Detail page

IMPORTANT
- Keep things consistent. This means all graphic styles should work together.
- All of the graphics should have a similar feel and general aesthetic appearance

Target User
- Businesses who are looking to buy large quantites of car parts (or really any product)

Judging Criteria

- How well you create your design concepts and think about the problem we are trying to solve
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design
