Challenge Summary

Welcome to “Talos Pre-license Driving Mobile App Storyboard Design Contest”. This project purpose is to create driver pre-license smartphones (iPhone) application which is a tool designed to help teen drivers and their parents respect their authorized driving instructors track mandatory of their pre-license driving time, while at the same time providing engaging context relevant feedback and advice designed to help teen drivers improve their driving skills. In this contest, we need your help to create look and feel for this application using our wireframes as references.

At the end of this contest, we are expecting a clean, user friendly and great iPhone app designs that are ready to be built in development phase.

Recent studies have shown that teenage drivers have the highest crash risk per mile traveled, compared with drivers in other age groups. Young drivers have a risk friendly attitude and tend to overestimate their driving abilities and underestimate the dangers on the road. To address this problem and to reduce the number of accidents among teenage drivers, the United States has implemented the Graduated driver licensing program. This program consist of state specific laws reduce this risk by making sure teens gradually build up driving experience under lower-risk conditions as they mature and develop skills.

The application developed through this project will help the management of mandatory driving hours reporting, which are required as part of the Graduated driver licensing program. The application not only logs the driving hours spent along the different driving conditions, but also takes advantage of the driving context and the multitude of sensors and capabilities that modern mobiles phone have, to implement a range of customized advices that coach the teen drivers and help them improve their driving skills.

In this contest, we need your help to create look and feel for this application that will be built on iPhone devices. You need to use our wireframes as your references in terms of layout and flow of the application. Here are the screens needs to be create in this contest :

Note : Please check the wireframes carefully, all additional design like popup, filter area from each screens also needs to be created.

Design Requirements :

- Orientation : Please follow wireframes orientation (Portrait View)
- Font : Use iPhone default font.
- Color : Up to designer. Please remember, this application will mostly used by young teens driver. Use color schemes that appropriate for this user.
- Size : 640 × 960 pixels (iPhone 4 with Retina display)

Target Audience

There will be 3 kind of audiences that will use this application, which are :
a. Teen Driver User
The teen driver user will use the main features of this application. The application is designed to help teen drivers improve their driving skills.
b. Authorized Instructors
The authorized instructor will supervise the driving sessions and will confirm the driving hours log.
c. Parent
The parent will supervise the driving sessions and will confirm the driving hours log.

Judging Criteria
Your submission will be judged on the following criteria:
-    How well your design follows iOS Standards specifically the iPhone
-    How professional your UI is designed, consistent and clean and creative.
-    Ease of use in Phone format.

Submission & Source Files
Preview Image
Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Please upload PNG 24-bit images in a zip file with all requested contest requirements stated above.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator and saved as layered PSD/AI files.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics, images (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
