Challenge Summary
Welcome to TopCoder University Logo Redesign Contest
We are going to built Topcoder University website upon wordpress. TopCoder University will be used as a one-stop-shop training portal for new clients onboarding with TopCoder. It will hold training videos, step-by-step walkthrus, interactive diagrams/pages and searchable FAQs. Clients will be able to sign up for training workshops and other live group training from here as well.
At the end of this contest, we are looking for a new creative and appealing logo that will be featured on this website.
Primary Goal:
For this contest we need you to design a new logo for the TC University site. The logo must be appealing and fun and convey the website features as mentioned in the contest introduction above, and follow the requirements as listed below.
Logo Requirements:
- Content:
a. Text: The logo must show "TopCoder University", with the "T, C, and U" letters are in uppercase.
b. Graphic: The logo must include the image combination of "A book or books" and "the TC brackets" somehow in your design.
We are looking for your ideas how you incorporated both these image requirement in your design to showcase a great logo for the TC University site. The important thing, it must be clear that the logo contain both of these images, "A book or books" and the "brackets". The more creative and stand out your graphics, the better.
- Please stay away from gradients, as they will not be able be easily reproduced across all media.
- You must show your logo on a white and black background (follow the template).
- You must identify your colors theme in the submission.
- Designs must be created as VECTOR artwork so they can be resized without a loss of quality. Make sure your logo quality is not diminished when scaled up or down.
Branding Guidelines:
- Fonts: Fonts are open to the designer, But we encourage you to choose and use web safe font. Please be aware of font delivery requirement.
- Colors: Please use the TopCoder colors in your design (Red, Black, and gray)
Target Audience:
- TC members, admin, PM, copilot.
- New and Potential Customer
- Current Customer
Judging Criteria:
- Requirements: Does your logo meet the requirements as stated in the description.
- Quality: Does your logo look creative, appealing and convey the website features?
- Concept: Does your logo present a new and interesting concept? Is it simple, yet memorable?
Submissions & Source Files
Preview Image:
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place your submissions within it. You are free to resize or crop your submission to fit this size, but do not add any filters or elements for dramatic effect, such as drop shadows or reflections.
Submission File:
All requested Contest Deliverables in JPG or PNG file format in RGB color mode at 72dpi.
Source File:
All original VECTOR source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Illustrator or Inkscape and saved as layered AI or EPS files in CMYK color mode.
Your source files must meet these requirements:
1) The IA/EPS logo file with text intact (not outlined).
2) The IA/EPS logo file with text in outlined format.
Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify colors or fonts.
