Challenge Overview

In this contest, you are asked to create a Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) for the Challenge.  An RTM consolidates into one document all the Challenge’s published functional and technical requirements.  The goal of this contest is to provide for the Challenge a consolidated set of discrete functional and technical requirements, from which test case definitions can be derived.

This is a unique contest!  Your submission will be a spreadsheet that groups and lists requirements that the application should be implementing.  We are running this as a Bug Hunt for two reasons:

1. Because we believe you, as a Bug Hunter, are best able to develop a Matrix for hunting bugs in the future on the Portal.

2. Because we will award 3, 4th + place winners with partial purchases, if individual elements of your submission are better than the overall winner's.

Thank you for participating and we hope you enjoy this contest.

More Details:

The RTM will include all functional and technical requirements specified in the Challenge’s contest-produced Conceptualization, Requirements, and Design artifacts, and from an initial set of requirements documented by CMS and Minnesota.  Following is a list of the eleven (11) winning artifacts, which are available in the document center for this project:

  • Provider Screening Enrollment requirements and evaluation criteria 08 22 2011.docx
  • Medicaid Provider Screening Portal Conceptualization.CLEAN.doc
  • Conceptualization Document – Medicaid Provider Screening Portal - Screening Rules Part 1.doc
  • Conceptualization Document – Medicaid Provider Screening Portal - Screening Rules Part 2.doc
  • Conceptualization Document – Medicaid Provider Screening Portal - Screening Rules Part 3.doc
  • CMS_-_Medicaid_Provider_Screening_Portal_-_Administrative_Features_ARS 1.doc
  • CMS_-_Medicaid_Provider_Screening_Portal_-_Provider_Business_Rules_-_Part 1_ARS.doc
  • CMS_-_Medicaid_Provider_Screening_Portal_-_Provider_Business_Rules_-_Part 2_ARS.doc
  • System_Design_Specification - external verification sources.doc
  • System_Design_Specification foundation.doc
  • Data Mappings.

Additionally, the RTM will include business requirements derived from the MITA v3.0 Business Architecture business process of Determine Provider Eligibility (EE05), process steps 1 through 13.  But note, this is out of scope for this contest!  We will post a second contest to capture the MITA requirements - keep an eye out for it!

Each requirement captured in the RTM will have a unique identifier. The RTM will include each discrete requirement only once (no duplicates).

This contest will be reviewed by client stakeholders, who will rank submissions.  The highest rank submission will win first place and second ranked submission will receive second place.  See Details for review criteria.
