Challenge Overview
It’s been a few years since TopCoder has updated the conceptualization questionnaire and it’s in need of an overhaul. As an initial, and highly critical component in a projects lifecycle, it’s important that we provide clients with an easy-to-complete, logical and intuitive questionnaire. Right now, the current questionnaire is a little out-dated. It includes some questions that are unclear or redundant, and is missing other questions that competitors are forced to ask clients on the contest forum for every new conceptualization contest.
The goal of this contest is to completely re-write (from the ground up) the Conceptualization Questionnaire. Specifically, we're looking for:
- New questions that can be considered "generic". By this, we mean the questions should apply to all types of projects. The goal is to front-load as many as possible of the commonly asked questions in Conceptualization contests into the questionnaire. You will need to lean on your previous experience in Conceptualization contests for this, as we do not have a list.
- Remove duplicate/redundant questions.
- Add questions that are commonly asked for every contest on Conceptualization contest forums. We want to eliminate the need for competitors to always ask the same set of questions on the forum - the questionnaire should ask these before the contest starts.
- Create a clear and concise format for answering questions.
- Create an easy-to-use, logical and intuitive document (document should be easy to understand for non-technical clients as well).
- Diagrams and infographics are a plus. We want you to make the questions being asked as clear as possible.
- The introduction in the document needs to be updated too so the purpose of the document is clear.
- The format of the document should be updated as well. We don't like the boxes in the current questionnaire and would like you to organize the new version in a new, easy-to-read format.
In summary, we need you to replace the existing Conceptualization questionnaire with a new, detailed questionnaire. These questions need to be very easy for clients to understand, and help encourage clients to answer in a way that provides competitors with all the information they need.
Important Notes
- Please ask questions on the forum if anything is unclear. This contest will be supported by a Copilot who is familiar with the Conceptualization track and will be available to answer your questions.
- Pay attention to typos! This questionnaire will be sent to TopCoder clients so it must look-and-feel professional.

Final Submission Guidelines
Final Submission Deliverables
Your submission must include:
- A new and updated Conceptualization questionnaire in Microsoft Word format.
- Source files for any diagrams and infographics.
- A simple text file explaining any choices you made (and why) when deciding which questions to include (or not include) in the new questionnaire.
- The final submission should be uploaded to the Online Review Tool.
- Please do NOT include your handle anywhere in your submission.
- This contest will be reviewed by the Content Creation Contest Review Board.
- The winner will be expected to make final fix changes as required by the review board, plus approval updates based on any client feedback.
- This contest will be rated.
