Challenge Summary

VTARC currently has a requisition team that receives requests for supplies from various internal departments.  They must then research available products and vendors that meet the criteria of the request.  Currently this research is done primarily via Google.  VTARC recently developed their own back end search engine to make this research more automated and efficient.

In our first contest we designed the wireframes for this new application.  In this contest you will be developing the storyboards.

Primary Goals
This is a basic web application that will be used by about 20 internal researchers.  There are just 3 main pages to the application, and we want to keep the design clean and simple.

The pages are:

Tasks - This lists all the existing tasks for the user and includes a link to the corresponding task page, the task name and description, the task status, the due date, and a link to the corresponding report.  Note that there is a popup screen on the task status that shows a more detailed status.  There are also four tabs which are essentially just filters based on status.  These tabs should each have the same design.

Task Report - There are two states to this page.  If the user clicks the Reports tab in the top menu, they see a list of available reports.  This is the same thing as the Completed tab from the Tasks page.  Once the user selects a report then the main Task Report page is shown.  It contains two editable fields at the top, and then what is called a Quad Chart at the bottom which displays the results of the search.  The structure of this Quad Chart must remain entact.

Create/Edit Task - this is where a task is created or edited.  It contains a name, description, and due date for the task, as well as inputs for creating a list of task specifications (search terms) and task sources/domains (urls to search)

Login/Admin/Help - the app also contains basic/standard login, user admin, and help pages

Branding Guidelines
Use the VTARC logo contained in the wireframes.  Other than that, you are free to design this however you would like.

Target Audience
This application will be used by a group of about 20 business professionals who perform the search and analysis tasks for various clients.
