Challenge Summary

Welcome to the NNS (NoNameSite.com) Quest2Matter Storyboard Contest. Quest2Matter is a portal inside NNS that will hold contest or challenges to students to submit ideas of Acts to help solve problems that breaks their heart within their community or around the world.    This challenge also connects students to information and mentors to guide them on taking effective action in today's world. 

NoNameSite.com is the product of DARPA CS-STEM project, an internet platform for helping middle school and high school students (13-18 year old demographic) develop an interest in the S.T.E.M. fields. The platform features contests, activities, prizes and web-based entertainment shows designed to get students engaged. 

For this contest, you are going to design 4 page to define the portal of "Quest2Matter" of NNS site. 

Round 1

1) Initial Home and FAQs page design with all their features mentioned in the Requirement section. 
2) Any note for the client about your submission
3) Number your submission (01, 02, 03, etc...) for easy client's review

1) Final submission design with all the pages and their features mentioned in the Requirement section.

Primary Goal & Design Considerations

The goal of this contest is to design the portal pages of "Quest2Matter" with the features outlined below. 

Your design should reside inside the content area of the provided NNS page template, leaving the header, footer, navigations designs as it is. 

Please note that the target audience are kids of all ages, so make your designs non-violent, easy to read, and understand. We are looking for a clean and modern design and should stay away from cartoony images. The provided powerpoint presentation will serve as an additional reference of what we are trying to achieve here.  Please do not use any photos or graphics from this powerpoint presentation.

1. Overall Requirements:
- include a navigation for this portal, the navigation items are: Home | Rules | FAQs | Submit
- create their respective pages outlined below.
- use logo placeholder for the meantime, we will provide the actual logo as soon as we got it.

2. Home page:
- please refer to the provided "Home.docx" document for the content of this page
- this page must have a registration button or graphics for the contest

3. Rules page:
- please refer to the provided "Quest2Matter Rules and Regulations.docx" document for the content copy of this page

4. FAQs page:
- please refer to the provided "FAQs.docx" document for the content copy of this page

5. Submit page:
- this will be a page for uploading a submission
- include a section on How to Upload a submission, refer to the provided "HOW TO UPLOAD.docx" for the text copy of this section
- must have a submission form, refer to the provided "HOW TO UPLOAD.docx" document for the requried fields. "Firstname", "Lastname", "Team name", "Email", and "School" are all text input field. "File upload" will be a File input field. "Terms and Conditions" should have a checkbox. "Submit" will be an input button.
- should have a section that list the user's submissions with columns for submission number, File Uploaded, date of submission, and a way to remove/delete a submission.

- should be cool and fun and stay away from cartoony images

- You will be judged on how you convey the game to easily and quickly learn how to play

Submission & Source Files
Preview Image
Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Please upload PNG/JPEG images in a zip file with all requested contest requirements stated above.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator and saved as layered PSD/AI files. 

 

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics, images (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. 

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
