Welcome to TopCoder University - Newsletter Sign Up Banner Contest.

We are building Topcoder University website upon wordpress. TopCoder University will be used as a one-stop-shop training portal for new clients onboarding with TopCoder. It will hold training videos, step-by-step walkthrus, interactive diagrams/pages and searchable FAQs. Clients will be able to sign up for training workshops and other live group training from here as well.

At the end of this contest, we are looking for a sophisticated banner for our newsletter sign up, that will be put at the homepage of the TC University (www.topcoder.com/university/) to ask clients, members or potential customer to sign up for our newsletter.


Primary Goal:
The goal of this contest is to design a sophisticated banner for our newsletter, that will live on TC University website (www.topcoder.com/university/). The newsletter is for our clients and will be our main form of communication. Signing up for the newsletter will get the user get informed and stay up to date on the latest TopCoder has to offer.

Banner Requirement:
Text:
The following text need to be appeared in the banner:
"Be informed and stay up to date on the latest TopCoder has to offer! Training | Release Notes | Tips, Tricks and Shortcuts | TopCoder News"
----We are looking for your ideas how to rearrange this text or the typography in the banner. You are free to include any graphics about each section. No restriction!. The most important thing is the information is clear and easy to read.

Call to action:
Please show this call to action in your banner:
"Sign Up for the Newsletter!"
----You are free to design this section in your banner, whether you will show this as a link, button, or something else you think best.

Graphical Illustration:
We are looking for a professional and clean graphic for "Newsletter Sign up". The placement of this in your design is open. Feel free to include all ideas you have while designing this.

Important notes:
- Feel free to add any graphics you create yourself to support your banner design. Make it stand out and appealing.
- Bring us your creativity when creating the design for this banner. No restriction! 
- Please note that we need something professional, awesome and eye-catching!

Branding Guidelines:
Size: Your banner size should have the same size as the current banner on http://www.topcoder.com/university/, 708 px width and 252 px height.
Fonts: Fonts are open to the designer, But we encourage you to choose and use web safe font. Please be aware of font delivery requirement. 
Color: Open to the designer, but please keep in mind to complement the whole TCU website.

Target Audience:
- TC clients, members, admin, PM, copilot.
- New and Potential Customer
- Current Customer

Judging Criteria:
Your submission will be judged on the following:
Creativity -The banner should be visually exciting and engaging
Execution -The quality of the graphics as well as following the provided guidelines
Requirements: Does your banner meet the requirements as stated within the contest specification?
Quality: Does your banner look fresh, professional, and clean?

Submissions & Source Files
Preview Image
Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPEG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submissions within it.

Submission File
All requested Contest Requirements stated above in PNG files. 
IMPORTANT - If you are submitting "small updates or changes" with multiple submissions please include in your notes file what is different or changed - this can be confusing to the client sometimes when they can't tell what is different.

Source Files
All requested Contest Requirements stated above in PSD/AI files.

Final Fixes 
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your design.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

Screening:

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
