Challenge Summary

The 2013 TopCoder Open is TopCoder's premier event of the year. Help us design the event table top graphic for the competitor's desk. You can see what these are by looking at the TCO11 photos. The table top screen is the large screen in front of competitors giving them privacy as they compete: http://community.topcoder.com/tco12/photos/day-1/ (photos in the 4th row onward show this) Your work should compliment the visual style of the TCO13 tournament website so everything appears unified.

Round 1

Submit your initial design for review.

Round 2

Submit your final design for review, with the milestone feedback incorporated.

Contest Details
The goal of this contest is to design the table top graphic. This is one large graphic that will be placed on twenty-four desks that are the main focal point of the onsite competition arena. The same graphic will be used for all of the onsite competitions. As such, the graphic should create a good visual for all of the TCO13 competition tracks.

Top Screen Design Requirements

There will be four stages, and 12 desks to each stage. The floor plan is attached, so you can see exactly how they will be arranged. See top-left and bottom-left corners: There will be two rows (of six desks each) lined up behind each other, and you can go either of two ways:

- Either design them so that the lined up images come together to form one big image (like a mosaic), or make one singular image that will be replicated on each desk without tying in to the neighboring desks' designs.
- This is how the table-top graphic will be used: http://www.flickr.com/photos/53993064@N03/8044198780/in/photostream
- We need a design that is visually attractive and embodies the competitive spirit of the entire event.
- You must have one visible TCO13 logo on the graphic - use tco13_logo_cs3.eps
- Your design must be exactly 46 inches wide and 23 inches high, with 1/4 inch bleeds. You may use the attached template (tabletop_template.ai). The imagery can bleed off the edges if you choose.
- The design will only be used on one side of the paperboard.
- The design must be able to contain the competitor's name/handle. Keep a placeholder area or text there, showing how the name can be displayed. However, the design should also be able to look good without the handle being displayed. Therefore please submit one version of the design with the competitor's name area designed, and one without.
- DO NOT add any additional logos, including the TopCoder logo, TopCoder Studio logo or Sponsor logos. All instances of any logos must retain the correct aspect ratio.

Fonts and Colors:
- Fonts are open to the designer with the exception of the Bank Gothic font. Please be aware of font delivery requirements.
- Colors are open to the designer but should complement the main colors for the TCO13.

References:
- This is what the 2012 TopCoder Open table-top graphic looked like: https://studio.topcoder.com/?module=ViewContestResults&ct=30026757 , and the 2011 graphic looked like: http://studio.topcoder.com/?module=ViewContestResults&ct=30022806. You can use these to get a general idea, we're looking for much better design than the previous years - and with much bigger space for the competitor's name/handle!

You can use elements from the attached website storyboard files (PSD_files.zip).
