Challenge Summary
Welcome to “FAST!! Talos - Dispatch Heat Map Storyboard Design Contest” contest. The goal of this project is to create application that able to visualize and mapping geographic data (on a map) through historical/past data about dispatches jobs to making business decisions for user that provides tow and service business. In this contest, we need your help to design look and feel for the application based on our wireframes as references.
At the end of this contest, we are expecting clean, user friendly and a great web page design that are ready to be built on development phase.
The client for this project has decided to create an application to help support a business where Tow Truck drivers and Service Delivery drivers (change a tire, perform a jumpstart, etc.) perform jobs at different locations. The goal of the application will be to visualize data geographically (on a map) from past dispatches jobs to increase knowledge base of client providers so that they can more effectively run their business. This would be achieved by providing them with easy to use mapping software that shows where historical dispatches (jobs) they have been located. If they can easily see on a map where they are busy and not busy, they can better position their trucks going forward.
This application will be embedded to client current application called “Fleet manager”, so the look and feel must follow the guide lines and branding references that were given in this contest (check TCHelp.png for the look and feel of the current client apps). In this contest, we only need one screen to be create which is the “map screen”. However, there are several elements needs to be create on the screens which are :
- Header section (In general your design should fit under a header like is shown (TCHelp.png). Please also assume that there will be an addional "navigation" header right below that for moving between different apps. Unfortunately, we don't have any mockups of that (hasn’t been designed yet). So basically, you don't have to worry about fitting into a specific area, just know that there will be a header (or 2) above it.)
- Menu and search section
- Sidebar section

Design Requirements :
- Font : Use web default font.
- Branding Guidelines : Topcodercolor.pdf and TCHelp.png
- Color : Follow “Topcodercolor.pdf”.
- Size : Minimum width is 1024px, fluid screen (it should expand to fit larger screens as well. E.g. when on a 1650x1080 screen, you should be able to view more of the map.)
Target Audience
There will be 2 kind of audiences that will use this application, which are :
a. Provider Users (Dispatcher, Owner, and Driver)
The “Provider” user role is for any employee of the Provider, such as the owner, the dispatcher, or the driver. A Provider User will only be allowed to see their data, not information for other providers or the city at large. Provider Users, they would have all of the filters (type of a job, accept vs. reject jobs, time of day and day of week, etc.). to help them understand and run their business better. For a Provider user type it does not matter who the actual employee is within the company (Driver, Dispatcher, or Owner) since they all will have the same user role in the system (although individual permissions may vary).
b. Admin Users
The “Admin” user is an employee of Talos. They will have access to more functionality than individual Provider users, such as the ability to look at data on the map for any specific provider or multiple providers. They will be able to view jobs completed for an entire area (such as a city), regardless of provider.
