Challenge Summary

Welcome to this exciting concept design contest! Have you ever heard about gamification? We are running a contest that focuses on this interesting concept to build the project foundations of an application based on gamification. Jump in now!

The primary goal of this contest is to come up with ideas that explain a clear conceptual framework about gamification applied to retail stores. You will be focused on restaurants for this particular contest.

At the end of the contest we’re looking forward to have a conceptual documentation that explains how this gamification system works applied to a restaurant model. You are encouraged to provide any new ideas, but we do not want to stray too far from the concepts in the materials your are provided with in the attachments which explain “the problem vs. solution” you need to dig into.

Gamification is the use of game mechanics and game design techniques in non-game contexts. Typically gamification applies to non-game applications and processes, in order to encourage people to adopt them, or to influence how they are used. We are applying this concept to retail stores, as mentioned before, for this contest you need to come up with ideas to define the details that tell us how it works, what the benefits are and the workflows for restaurants use case.

Contest Requirements
You need to do research to find backgrounds for this kind of projects, see how other samples can help us and outline the restaurant gamification system details you come up with, show us how it should work.

Your submission must cover the following topics at least (you can go beyond):

1) Problem exposure
- You should deliver written concepts explaining how the whole system works, exposing the problem, solution and benefits.

2) System breakdown
- Think and explain how the gaming system parts work, such as achievements, rewards, trading, and so on. Think in terms of recognition, achievements and "being the best" as the rewards; and also encouraging store participants to increase motivation.

3) Workflows
- It would be nice to see details about the different processes that occur on this environment.

4) User Stories
- It would be nice to see some user stories with narration.

5) Implementation Guidelines
- We are planning to design rough samples for mobile screens, web application, and all the possible resources used in this whole system. It would be nice some sketches or text about this, how they should look and recommendations basically.

Target Audience
Business leaders and innovative oriented minds.

Judging Criteria
You will be judged on your creativity of the idea and how well you addressed the outlined requirements.

Submission File
Your ideas can be presented in any way you want as long as the idea proposition is clear. We encourage the use of images (their design and professionalism will not influence the score/placement of the submission), to explain otherwise hard to understand ideas.

You may submit a zip file containing PDF, plain text, Word, OpenOffice, or HTML files. Choose whichever format you find most convenient. We don’t take care too much about the submission files as long as they are “readable” and you cover all the requirements.

Source Files
Identical to your submission file.
