Challenge Summary

Welcome to “Midas Analytics Engine Storyboard Design Contest”. This contest purpose is to create a professional look and feel for our application using several pages from the wireframes provided at contest attachment.  At the end of this contest, we are looking for a clean, intuitive, professional and strong web design for the application that present best user experience.

Our client have many internal application in company to manage. These internal applications are used in the specific business areas and it is really important for our client to know whether those applications perform well or not. In this project, we want to create a new application to monitor all those internal application in terms to get analytic result for client Technology Product Management (TPM) team.

In this contest, we want you to create professional look and feel for this new internal application using our wireframes as guidance for the layout and bring a good user experience in the entire application. Please read more design requirements below.

Design Requirements
1    Login page
o    Provide us with error login condition

2    Application Owner Dashboard Page
o    In this page, user can choose whether they want to see chart or table view. We need both view (user tabs only) to be created in your submission.
o    Tab1, Tab2, Tab3 should be an accordion menu connected to content below it. Rename the Tab1 and the others with title of the content.
o    Graph/Chart design can be a placeholder for now.
o    Clicking “stacked bar chart” under tab1, user login per day (chart view) will show chart selection where user can choose to see the data presented using any chart they like. Provide us with the chart choice design in your submission.
o    Clicking customize dashboard button will open modal window, please create the modal window in your submission.

3    Admin KPI Page
o    By default, “remove KPI” button is disable and only active when user click any checkbox. Create the disable and active button state for this button.
o    “Add KPI” button will trigger modal window, please create the modal window screen in your submission.
o    “Remove KPI” button will trigger modal window, please create the modal window screen in your submission.
o    Click Total utilized content in 1st row (40) and it will show all applications that using the metric data in modal window, please create the modal window screen in your submission.

4    Feed Uploader Metrics Data Page
o    Create both view (graph and table) in your submission (user tab only)
o    Graph design can be a placelholder for now.
o    Click stacked bar chart will open chart selection bubble, create this design in your submission.
o    Even if it’s not showed in the page, we need each chart/table in this page have an accordion menus to avoid user scrolling the page to much.
o    Clicking “upload metric data” button will trigger modal window. Please create the modal window design in your submission.
o    Create modal window shown in the wireframes when user click “view upload metric data status” button.
 
5    Admin Defects Page
o    Please see that new data in defects page have some flag to notify admin about it’s presence.

6    Application Owner Feedback Page
o    Click “upload feedback” button will trigger a modal window that allow user to upload feedback for the application using file upload. Create the design in your submission.
o    Click “view” in details column will show the feedback content details in modal window. Create this design in your submission.

7    Admin Application Page
o    Click “Add Application” button will trigger a modal window where admin can authorize user to each application. Create the modal window in your submission.
o    Clicking the first row in this page will trigger a modal window to manage user permission for each application. Create the modal window design in your submission.
o    Click any checkbox will activate the “delete all selected items”. Create this interaction design in your submission.

8    Settings
o    In this page, user can set several things like choose what kind of information that the user would like to see in the dashboard. There are several expand/collapse interaction in this page, please make sure your design can accommodate the interaction.

o    Charts Background Color - R:242; G:242; B:242
o    Table Name - R:0; G:178; B:239
o    Table Header - R:166; G:166; B:166
o    Chart Bar Color Example - R:255; G:161; B:0
-    Font : Font is open to designer, we encourages you to use web safe font in your submission. Please be aware of your font delivery, read more details about Studio font policy here.
-    Size : create your application design in 1024px width.

Target Audience
This application will be use by two user which are :

a. Application Owner
The main user of the proposed application who can view metrics data in different view, filter and drill down the metrics report, upload metrics feed for viewing report, export the viewed report in different formats.

b. Admin
The admin can manage the application IDs in the dashboard in addition to the previously described functionality of an application owner..

Judging Criteria
These are the judging criteria for this contest, which are :
-    Creativity of your storyboard design that hinting towards the applications purpose.
-    Storyboard completeness.
-    Cleanliness of your graphics and design.

Submissions & Source Files
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Submit JPG/PNG for your submission files.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. We may ask you to update your design or graphics based on other winning placements.

 

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and final fixes (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
