Challenge Summary

Welcome to the FAST!! Hercules Field Tech Dashboard Concept Design Contest.
The goal of this contest is to creating/thinking through to new solutions of the "Field Tech" Dashboard design based on the client's outline.
We're looking for a number of general concepts that meet the requirements below to give to the client to look at. So, submit as much solution designs as you can.

A new application is being started that will be an app for Hercules Field Techs. The app will contain links and information for the techs and will provide a dashboard with links to various systems and applications that they will use during their daily work.
Some sample screens and direction are provided, but you are fully able to use your discretion when designing the screens. There is currently no set layout or look and feel that has to be used.

Field Tech Dashboard Design Problem
1) General Dashboard Design

- Need you ideas/solution design how the general navigation will looks like.  
- Refer attached layout screenshot. That only starting point, you're encouraged to improve the layout UX.
- Dashboard need show 7 main buttons, how they designed?
- You must NOT copy icons from the provide references. Please re-create them on your submission.
- For each button need create icons or just text? Need your thoughts here.
- Navigation remains static on top.
- "What's New" need prominent style and placement. Press this button need show scrolled section. Refer more details task below.
- “Forward” and “Back” arrows placed on top. Need thinking design style how buttons looks when navigate.
- Bottom toolbar show series of icons. how you create them.

2) Dashboard Flow
- Pressing each icon will open safari browser windows by opening and sliding in from right to left with the site.
- Need you think how the user will navigate in the browser window after clicked each buttons on dashboard.
- When the user clicks the icon, at first thought we want use "slide-in/slide-out" transition effect. But, you're encouraged to submit another solution by take advantages of iOS library.
- Check these site for example of transitions sample:

-- Any others? Please suggest us.
- Need to show how details of that browser page looks. Put dummy content or a placeholder is fine for now
- Also, how the user will hide it again to go back to the main screen. Consider about “Forward” and “Back” arrows on top

3) What's New Screen

- How the "What's New?" button will work?
- Where it will be placed,
- What it will look like, and
- How it will open and close.
- Pressing “What’s New” drops down a scrollable alerts section with date/time stamps.
- Additionally, it opens the communication section to reveal the communication folders.

A. Apple App store on iOS for iPhone
- Bottom row navigation for sections
- Defined topic areas within each section
- Thumbnail tiles

B. Xfinity TV Player for iOS for iPhone
- Left menu navigation of primary areas
- Scrolling of thumbnails
- Comcast mobile style sheet

C. Quantum App for iOS for iPhone
- Bottom row navigation across features
- Scrolling of thumbnails
- Comcast mobile style sheet

D. Existing Art
Existing Comcast customer-facing apps share a UI theme which could easily be adopted for Field Techs.
- Common Font treatment
- Common Color scheme of highlighted items
- Common navigation

IMPORTANT
- Keep things consistent. This means all graphic styles should work together.
- All of the graphics should have a mimic existing looks and suggestion
- On this contest we're just looking how design looks on "iPhone Standard Portrait Layout" (320px x 480px).
- As part task, the contest winner need create "iPhone Retina Portrait Layout" (640px x 960px)

Submission & Source Files
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.
Submission File
All Requested Contest Submission Requirements stated above.
Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator and saved as layered PSD or AI file.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
