Welcome to the Hestia Business Information Application UI Design Challenge In this Challenge we are looking for you to design a new user interface for the Hestia Business Information (BI) Application. Business Information is a business intelligence and performance management application suite. 

The application is designed to enable business users without technical knowledge to extract corporate data, analyze it and assemble reports. 

This Challenge is focused on creating a modern, and inviting Business Information user interface so Hestia executives have a useful and engaging application.

Hestia always looking to give their customers a better user experience by updating and enhancing the User Experience (UX) of their existing websites and web applications. For this challenge we are looking to customize and create a better user experience for their Business Information (BI) application.

Design Problem
- Hestia executives need to quickly access and view reports
- Hestia executives will be viewing these reports using their iPad and desktop computers
- The Business Information Business Information user interface needs to be "touch" friendly
- The user interface needs to be branded "Hestia Business Information" (reference the attached logo)

Design Considerations
- We are looking for "NEW user interface design" (different than Hestia B2B application)
- This is an "internal" application and needs to stand out and be branded Business Information
- We need you to review and think about the provided BI logo and see how that might work/look and help create a new BI brand for this appliction and reports
- Use attached Hestia-Cognos-Logo.zip for logo on this design submission

Submissions Format
- Desktop and iPad Landscape Screen Size (1024px x 768px) 
- iPhone 5 Portrait Screen Size (320px x 568px)

Design Requirements
I. Active Report Flow

1. Landing Page

- This is the old look Business Information Landing Page
- We are looking for a completely new design for this page
- You need show provided new Business Information Logo
- How should this page look and work?
- Create new icons and design that works within the new BI branding - help create this new branding
- Remember, all UI elements on this page need to be "Tablet and Phone" friendly

2. Sales Overview
- User landed on this page after click "Sales Overview" button
- Design the navigation/flow to this page
- How is the logo used? (what version of the logo is used?)
- Everythign on this page would need to fit within the iPad/Tablet view
- Sales overview page contains tab design that will show these 3 screens: 

2.1 Prior Months View (PMV)

- We need this Report View page redesigned. 
- How should the table and the graph look?
- What colors will make this pop and "visually" capture what is going on?
- We want to create and clarify color intent.. how should "red" or "green" always be used?
- Design how the chart legend should looks 

2.2 Current Months View (CMV)

Basically this screen look similar like previous PMV tab. 
These things need captured for this page:
-- Use different color for the chart bar.
-- Match existing table and chart content. 

2.1 Months Compare (MC)

3. Open Orders

- We need this Open Orders page redesigned. 

4. Vendor Search

- This is landing page when click "Vendor Transaction" buttons. 
- Right now, only search button need displayed on current page.
- How the best practice search result should look? 
- Need you think pagination for numbers of search result data  

5. Account Payable

- We need this Accounts Payable page redesigned
- How page looks if there's more table column show up?
- Radio buttons will updated related chart. How you reflect that on your design? 
- Redesign the 3-Axis chart and legend. What chart type proper for easy data read?
- Match existing table and chart content.

6. BI Form Creation Page

- This is a page that a developer creates when planning new types of report (they will create different types of forms/inputs on this page)
- The top area/header can only have the color and branding changed - the size and icons cannot be changed (its part of this application)
- We need this navigation and design to be consistent with your new BI branding/design approach
- Replace "IBM Cognos Viewer" with Business Information (logo) and adjust the page colors as needed
- Focus on the center area and a default template for the developer to use when creating new "input" pages
- Design how the buttons or forms might look/work on this page

- Cleanliness of your graphics and design

Submission & Source Files 
Preview Image 

Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it. 

Submission File 
Submit JPG/PNG image files based on Challenge submission requirements stated above. 

Source Files 
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file. 

Final Fixes 
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
