Round 2

All contest requirements as stated in contest details with client feedback Applied

This contest purpose is to create a new look and feel for TopCoder University Homepage. The current design of TopCoder University can be found in url http://www.topcoder.com/university/. We are looking for a solid design oriented for our customer training program which held in this site.

We want the new hompage to have user friendly design and appealing to the eye!! So pay attention to details.

Design Requirements :
-    There is only one screen that needs to be design in this contest, the TopCoder University Homepage.

-    Please see Uirefresh.jpg to get an idea of the content information we would like to see in your design. We would like the content/information in the mock-up (Uirefresh.jpg) to be used as the guide for where we want the information displayed on the page. BUT, we also need the design to be flexible so if we want to change it down the road, we can. So, Please use your creativity max to the limit and provide us a great user experience for the new homepage.

-    We will keep the current TCU logo in the design, but everything else open to design options and suggestions! We think incorporating social media (twitter/facebook/blog/youtube channel) buttons somewhere on the page is a great idea!

-    We like the idea of using "boxes" as groupings around each section instead of the left navigation that is currently appear in the current homepage. We’re also like the idea of having the 'Search and Chat' bar on all pages of TopCoder University, not just on the FAQ page.

-    Later on the next contest, We will convert the winning design into wordpress themes. Also, we would eventually like the site to be able to be customized by each individual user. This would require the user to log in -- which is functionality that does not currently exist. Ideally, they could move the "boxes" or "widgets" around to different places on the page, they could expand or minimize them, or hide them from the page altogether. This will give the client a more personalized experience and present only information that is important to them. we'd also like the ability to track which "boxes" or "widgets" are being used most often, which ones are being hidden and the click through rate...BUT this is all a phase 2 and phase 3 of this re-design project. For now, lets just focus on getting the design and experience right!!

Branding and Design Guidelines :
-    We want to keep the same sharp and shiny look of the current TopCoder website. Let’s stick with that style.
-    Make good use of fonts. Play with a good combination of web-safe fonts. Beware of declaring your fonts according to the Studio font’s policies.
-    Show hover effects for all buttons and UI elements that you create (buttons, hyperlinks, etc).
-    We want the new homepage site to be responsive, so create the homepage design in 4 screensizes :
o    Mobile : 320px
o    Tablet : 768px
o    Netbook : 1024px
o    PC : 1600px (references about responsive design can be found here : http://mediaqueri.es )
