Challenge Summary

Sitter Etc is a mobile application that allows parents to create a network of trusted babysitters.  The connections are made via Facebook, and once parents and sitters are connected the app allows a parent to see the availability of each sitter in their network, schedule their services, and then pay them via PayPal.

The application is currently in a Beta release and the company would like to improve the application before proceeding with a wider rollout.  We have completed the new Wireframes, and now it's time to add a cool new design.

Round 1

Initial Submissions for client review

Round 2

All contest requirements as stated in contest details with client feedback Applied

Primary Goals
The primary goal of this contest is to design the new look and feel of this babysitter scheduling application. You will use the provided wireframes for workflow, layout, and navigation and data.

The design here should be fun and exciting, but should also make the app easy and intuitive to use.

All screens of the provided wireframes are in scope here.  However, you'll find that a lot of the screens are similar, and thus there's no need to repeat your designs.  Simply provide a note indicating which additinal pages each page design applies to.  (for example, the Sitter menu and Parent menu are nearly identical, so design one, and include a note stating that the design applies to both)

Make sure to provide screens for popups, collapase/expandable features, error forms, and so on.
As a suggestion, start by clicking through all the buttons and menus of the wireframes, to understand the interactions and features of the application.
Pay attention to the notes in the wireframes.

The most important sections of the app are the calendar/scheduling and the payments, so pay particular attention to those.

Branding Guidelines
We are looking for a brand new design here (so don't follow the existing website or app).  The only requirement is that you stick to the general color scheme as shown in the color palette attachment and incorporate the Sitter logo.

While this app will initially be implemented for the iPhone, we will later be extending this to Android phones (via PhoneGap).  So, your design should be general enough to cover both.  As for sizing, you can use normal iPhone dimensions (320px x 480px) in portrait orientation.

We're looking for lots of creativity here!  Don't feel constrained by the exact wireframe design.  You are welcome to make improvements as you see fit, particularly to the calendar and scheduling pieces.

Target Audience
The users are parents who wish to hire a babysitter and teenagers who wish to work as babysitters.  While these are two distinct groups, each with their own half of the app, we want the design to be consistent. That is, don't design the parent pages to be completely different than the sitter pages.

Reference Designs
The calendar/scheduling piece is important to the app.  The wireframes just show a basic calendar system.  We would like the storyboards to improve on this.  A good example of a scheduling UI can be found here:  Nest
