Requirements
Overall
- Your final deliverable will be a formatted version design in InDesign of the Illustrator version of the ebook. In other words, you are taking the Ai file (original book), creating a new INDD file (simple, black and white) and reformatting for Kindle Paperwhite version.
- Use the same fonts. Declare your fonts according to the Studio font’s policies. If you don’t have any of the fonts from the provided storyboard replace them with Arial and add a note about it. You will be asked to replace the font if you become a winner.
- Do research and help us to create an optimized version for the Kindle (.mobi).

* By the end of this contest we expect to receive two files. One InDesign CS5 or CS6 (not lower) file with the book and one .mobi file exported with the Kindle Plugin for InDesign.

Kindle Formatting Guidelines
- Use the provided Adobe Illustrator source file (actual book – TopCoderEbook.ai) as baseline to duplicate the exact same content/pictures and formatting onto a new Adobe InDesign file.
- Page size for the InDesign document is letter.
- This must be a simple black and white plain version.
- Reformat the content layout in a simple manner (like a Kindle book – see guidelines and reference links below).
- Replace fonts with standard book-safe fonts. Consider to make good font choices to have them look very pleasant.
- Use character and paragraph styles properly.
- Use page breaks wisely.
- We’d like to see good using of master pages at your consideration.
- Organize pages and layers easy to understand.
- Create proper table of content and metadata for the books.
- Optimize resolution of images for publishing. Notice the maximum dimension for pictures is 600x800pixels at 72dpi, grayscale.
- Take care of the table of contents for Kindle publishing.
- For this version you’ll deliver an INDD file and a .mobi file (Kindle format).
- Make sure to get familiar with these resources:
    - Kindle Plugin for Adobe InDesign.
    - Kindle Plugin Guidelines.
    - Kindle Previewer.
    - Kindle Optimization Tips.
    - Publishing Guidelines and Tips.

* There is a known issue with the Amazon Plugin for some countries (can't download). Follow these instructions in case you are affected by this issue.
