Challenge Summary

Welcome to CSFV Website Welcome Popup Design Contest. We want to create a very fancy and friendly “welcome popup” to be displayed on the CSFV Homepage. We need your talent to design fancy stuff!

Round 1

For your R1 deliverables please submit all the features requested under “Storyboards Requirements” section.

Round 2

Final design will contain all the requested features under “Storyboards Requirements” section plus any updates from client feedback.

The primary goal of this contest is to design an overlay/popup for the CSFV home page, a gaming website. The design challenge is focused on creating a very friendly “welcome” area that lets the user know what he/she can do on this website.

We envision a very user-friendly content, with pictures and interactive features that engage the user to use this website. Also, it should be clean and fresh, we are targeting to a wide population area.

Branding and Guidelines
- CSFVStoryboards.zip contains the files with the existing design of the site for you to take as guidance and re-use as much UI form elements as you can, such as the popup container, buttons, etc.
- Use Template.psd to place your design within.
- Fonts are open to suggestions BUT keep consistency in the overall look of the site. If you have any issue with the provided source files fonts just replace those fonts with a regular one (like Arial) and add a note in your submission explaining you made the change. You will be asked to replace those fonts if you become the winner. Declare your fonts according to the Studio font’s policies.
- Colors must match and appeal the current colors from the provided design.
- Think of web 2.0 when you’re creating your solution. We want to appeal to teens, and the general population.

Storyboard Requirements
Design an overlay/popup over the provided home page with the following conditions.

- Maximum width 800px. Maximum height 620px. Be wise when setting the dimensions.
- Place a video placeholder at large size (640x360px recommended). You can adjust the dimension slightly to fit your design but keep the same aspect ratio (16:9). This video will play and show information about the site, what to do, hot to play and so on, just so you know.
- Design a prominent “Welcome to verigames.com” message.
- Add a two lines paragraph below with dummy text (“lorem ipsum”).
- Add a “Learn More” link/button.
- The popup should have a close button/link/x somewhere.
- Add social network icons for Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus and YouTube. Consider designing these icons similar to the current style you can see on the header/footer area. Circle background with a white icon inside.
- Add a set of photos (maybe a stripe, carousel, grid, anything you want to suggest) the user will see to feel engaged. Download these game assets (game pictures). Choose interesting pictures.
- If you plan to add any kind of interaction on this popup please provide the hover states of those UI components you design.
- All these elements should be gracefully placed (any order, at your consideration), in a fresh and clean way. Consider these elements need to be engaging and exciting.

* Note: in order to unzip the game assets you need to install 7zip program on your system. Just in case you don’t have, you can download it here.
