Problem Statement
Currently management of permission sets within the Salesforce platform is a tedious process that requires assignment on an individual basis from the targeted user’s setup section. No ability is provided to mass load users to a permission set without an administrator using a data loading tool, and no automation is available for assigning to specific groups of users automatically. Additionally, only system admins with the “manage users” permission can assign users to a permission set. The ability is not available to the delegated administrators function which leaves a security hole open in giving such broad access.
Goal
The intent is to build a customized tool for managing permission sets that makes it easier to maintain permission set assignments for both admins and specified non-admins (delegated admins). The solution will be built in Salesforce to provide a manual and automated criteria rule based assignment tool.
