Welcome to the "Stone" Website Design Concept Contest. This contest is focused on creating an ALL NEW user experience for client's website. We are looking to transform the existing traditional set of webpages with text-and-images to a modern and a responsive design. In this “design concept” contest, we are looking for you to kick off the overall project with your design ideas and initial design direction based on the below requirements.

About the client:  (Stone is a codename) 
Stone is a manufacturer of people-moving products including elevators, escalators and moving walkways.

Stone is looking to give their customers a better user experience by redesigning their website. This main aim of this contest is focused on creating new “design concepts” to kick-start this project and help define an overall design direction.

Design Problem:
Client would like to transform their website from a “traditional” text-and-images set of pages to a more modern “interactive experience”.
- The new site needs to quickly show their products to their customers in an intuitive manner
- The site design need to support multiple platforms and screen sizes (Responsive Design)
- The site needs to be customer focused, easy to navigate!!

Design Concepts Consideration:
Features mentioned below are from the website requirements document (attached), so corresponding requirement number has also been mentioned to allow you to find more information on that specific feature from the document.

We need your initial design direction to further take the project forward through our series of contests, so we are looking for:
- Modern look and feel
- Sleek User Interface
- Follow Branding Guidelines from the attached document.
- Responsive Design:  
The site will be built using HTML 5, so while designing your screens - please make sure it will respond well in all types of interface.
Mobile (> = 320px width) and 
Desktop (> = 960px width)

General Features Requirements: 
The following are site requirements and customer feature requests,

Navigation (Req. 2) (expected in all pages)
- Client has many sites globally, a consistent navigation that can be used across all our sites and also need to be consistent based on the logged-in user role (Architect, Building Manager, Consultant, and Service Customer) and drive site experience based on the navigation.

Quick Contact Information (Req. 5):
Contact Info needs to be quickly accessible on any page in as few clicks as possible. Please see more on this in the attached requirements document.

Other General Features:
- Multi-lingual support options: (feature expected in all pages) (Req. 6)
- High-resolution imagery, high-impact graphics and 3D content/models wherever applicable (Req. 17)
- Live chat, Co-Browsing and Ask an Expert: (feature expected in all pages) (Req. 21, 22 and 24)
- Site Search with Auto-Complete feature: (feature expected in all pages) (Req. 25)
- Show their Statistics: (Req. 26)
- Promote Mobile Apps (Req. 27)
- Social Sharing (feature expected in all pages) (Req. 31)
- Opt-in Newsletter Subscription (Req. 34)
- Customer Feedback (Req. 37)
- Options to login/signup (feature expected in all pages)

1) Home:
Example Home page Content/Thoughts:
- High resolution images/graphics/3D models (appropriately) (Req. 17)
- Show their Statistics (Req. 26)
- Signature Product Photography/Video (Req. 16)
- What other items could be added to make this page more easy as well as interesting for users, please go through the requirements documents for ideas/expectations?
- Please include clicked/hover styles for buttons/links wherever required.

2) Product Details: 
This page will show details about the chosen product and also has the below features:
- Product Details Content/Thoughts (see below)
- Request Pricing (Req. 8)
- Tools that user could interact (Req. 11, 36)
- Download/Print/Share (Req. 12)
- Marketing and Product Information (Req. 13, 32)
- Showing Signature Product Photography/Video (Req. 16)
- High resolution images/graphics/3D models (Req. 17)
- Interactive product brochures (Product overlays will exist that allow a customer to click on a specific section to learn more about it and interact with the product model.) (Req. 30)
- Opt-in Newsletter Subscription (Req. 34)
- Go through the General Feature requirements and add them appropriately in your design.

- Please include clicked/hover styles for buttons/links wherever required.

Example Product Details Content/Thoughts:
We need to show product details which will have the following:
- Product Name 
- About the Product (2 paragraphs with 4 lines of text).
- Features of the product (which will have feature name and followed by a 4 -5 lines of text about that feature. There could be many features. It could also have an image showing that feature – features may be about types of flooring/wall inside the elevator (cab) etc...)
- Technical Specifications (which could include building applications, maximum height & weight the product could accommodate and maximum speed with which the elevator could travel).
- Product Brochures (PDF’s).
- What other items could be added to make this page easy as well as interesting for users, please go through the requirements documents for ideas/expectations?

3) Additional Screen:
We might require an additional screen to be designed as per the client needs - we will announce it during the checkpoint phase

Branding Guidelines:
- We would like you to follow the attached Branding Guidelines.
- Use a placeholder for logo.

Target Audience: 
- All users and customers who visits the site to learn more about the products and the client.
- Architects, Building Managers, Consultants and Service Customers looking to find information on products

Judging Criteria:
- Does the design show modern look & feel and a sleek UI?
- Is it a Responsive design?
- How well the design has captured the above mentioned features?

Submission & Source Files: 
Preview Image 
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File 
Submit JPG/PNG image files based on contest submission requirements stated above.

Source Files 
All original source files. Original source files should be saved as layered Photoshop PSD files or AI / EPS (Illustrator) files.

Final Fixes 
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. If items were missed from the milestone round you may be asked to include them in your final design.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
