Challenge Summary

Recently we designed another EBook for TopCoder. We want to redesign the cover page artwork and rethink the layout of the Table of Content (ToC) page. Welcome and join!

Round 1

Deliver all the required pages for a review under the “Design Requirements” section.

Round 2

As final round deliver all of the required pages from the “Design Requirements” section plus client feedback.

The goal of this contest is to redesign the EBook cover and table of content page only, just two pages. We feel the current cover can be stronger and take advantage of neat graphic design. We want you to be creative and use your skills to make this cover pop out a lot.

Branding Guidelines
- Use the provided source files of the current design (EBook.zip). Keep the same page size which is 5.5" x 7.5".
- Fonts are open to the designer but try to be consistent with the existing fonts already. Declare your fonts according to the Studio font’s policies. If you don’t have any of the fonts from the provided storyboard replace them with Arial and add a note about it. You will be asked to replace the font if you become a winner.
- Overall graphics should feel like the current design of the current book design, mostly the same icon and cleanness treatment as the TopCoder website. Avoid black or dark colors as a predominant color.

Design Requirements
Cover Redesign
- Redesign the cover to be more attractive and eye catchy.
- We’d like to keep the "head" as the "star" of this concept but use the head in a different way (perhaps different colors too). Take a look to this reference (DON’T COPY anything or you’ll fail screening), see how that head is rotated and facing you a bit. This rotation of the head, with some of the icons used to represent the "6 Ways" incorporated could work nicely. We’re open to everything and interpretations of that, color schemes, fonts. We want some really nice thoughts into the fonts around the title.
- There is attached the design of an old EBook which uses a head, you can have this as graphic reference too (OldEBook.zip)
- All titles and subtitles must be kept in the design.
- Add “Brought to you by TopCoder and CloudSpokes together”. Logos are attached. See this reference but we don’t want it against black. You can rethink this.

Table of Contents
- We want this page completely redesigned.
- This needs to be engaging, more artistic. Think of large graphics, beautiful fonts, different layout. You may take two pages if necessary.
- You can reuse the icons concepts but you’re totally encouraged to rethink this too.

Target Audience
This eBook is targeted at Companies Director and Executives. Overall, anyone interested to know about Crowdsourcing and who is doing Open Innovation in the right way.

Judging Criteria
- Originality.
- Quality of design.
- Completeness of the requirements and consistency.
