Challenge Summary

Welcome to the EMC Professional Services Ecosystem Display Graphics Contest Part I. The goal of this contest is to create some initial information graphics that will help define the EMC Professional Services Ecosystem. The Professional Services group is looking to refine and simplify their message through some simple graphics and icons. We want to help viewers quickly understand how Professional Services organization is organized interally and how the Professional Services employee fits into this ecosystem. 

Note: We are looking for high quality graphics and icons that can be used throughout many types of presentations and design materials. We are going to focus on powerpoint presentation format for this contest but the graphics need to be interchangable and reusable (vector format)

Contest Details
We are looking for you to review the provided content and help refine and define the EMC Professional Services messages. Similar to how the community has defined the TopCoder factory modal over the years - we need you to make use of good visual aids, icons and graphic design in order to generate a solid first impression on the viewer.

Submissions Deliverables
For this contest you need format your submission as stated below
1). Design your graphics to fit within a 1024x768 presentation slide
2). Any original graphics must created as vector format from Adobe Illustrator (.ai) source files.

Design Problem
EMC has an internal Professional Services group that wants to refine their messaging and overall graphics. They need easy to understand graphics that quickly illustrates to their audience how they are internally organized.


EMC has reorganized in order to staff resources who are the best fit for the work regardless of alignment to Geo or Work Group, transform skill sets and capabilities of employees to deliver EMC's continously evolving portfolio and provide a career structure that attracts, retains, and develops the best talent.

Definitions
Geos (Geographies) are the employee's local community.  Employees hardline manager reside in the geo. Geos are responsible for Project assignments and performance evaluations (with work group input)

Work Groups are responsible for providing standards, methodologies, tools and functional training  to their members as well as laying out viable career paths the employees may follow.

Practices are communities of expertise that provide a forum for Knowledge sharing and collaboration, Subject Matter Experts to projects and domain specific training. 

Expected Solutions

Branding Guidelines
- Design theme should follow the EMC Font and Palette information at EMC design.pptx
- New graphics should look clean, professional and modern!
- Include the logo within your slide design (EMC-Logo.zip)

Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Your graphics as JPG or PNG files.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Original source files of AI / EPS (Illustrator) vector graphic files.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
