Challenge Summary

Appirio is expanding on the Appirio Gamification Engine (AGE) with the creation of new badges! We are looking for some badge styles to enhance the experience for all Appirians, as well as showcasing Studio’s creative talent.

Round 1

All five (5) badge designs, for checkpoint review.

Round 2

- All five (5) badge designs, after incorporating checkpoint feedback
- GUI kit/guidelines based on your badge design

We are looking for five (5) badge designs, and a basic GUI kit/set of guidelines that will define the style for future badges. Badges represent important achievements for Appirians. They are a symbol of accomplishment. The goal of this contest is to create a look and feel for five (5) badges that represent different badge types. For a good reference on badge types, you can refer to the TopCoder Studio badges page.

Design Requirements:
Badge Designs:

- Badge designs must be vector graphics each at 240px by 240px.
- Like vintage mixed with modern style.
- Each badge need not be styled exactly the same but similar in some elements.
- Our AGE site is very sleek, clean design (screenshot attached: AGE_Screenshot.png). Therefore, it must match but add a fun vibe, like the retro idea.
- We like good mix of words with pictures. We need our badges to be more descriptive, but don’t want to do away with fun pictures.

GUI Kit/Guidelines:
We require some brief guidelines for the creation of future badges based on your existing designs, in the form of a PDF or PSD, with the following information included:
- Badge Shapes (if they are varying, show the different kind of basic shapes)
- Badge Anatomy and Spacing (if following a specific structure, explain the spacing in px and the graphic or border requirements)
- Color Palette (list the colors used along with their hex codes)
- Fonts (list the fonts used)
See attached "BrandingDocument.pdf" as an example of the format to follow.

Branding Guidelines
- See attached screenshot for the current AGE design.  We want NEW badge designs, replacing what’s shown here
We are looking to define the “core” badge layout for the types listed in the requirements
You CAN’T use clip art of any kind. All designs must be your original work.
Colors are open to the designers but it must work within the design and additional colors should be complementary.
Shape is open to the designer.
