Challenge Summary

Welcome to Topcoder - Error Page (logo origami instructions) Design Challenge. This is really a fun challenge and we are looking for you to be as creative as possible.

Whenever the topcoder site goes down or encounters some errors - we usually see an error page, to make this error page more interesting to the users, it is decided to have an topcoder 3D logo origami instructions page where a user can take print out of this error page and be able to create a 3D version of the NEW [topcoder] logo with a paper (Origami). Please find more details below.

Round 1

- Your initial designs for the error page

Topcoder site was recently redesigned and also had a brand NEW [topcoder] logo. This new logo resembles that of a hat - so we are looking to have this error page as Origami folding instructions page where a member could take a print of this error page and create a 3D version of this logo with a paper based on the given folding instructions.

This error page will be shown when the Topcoder site encounters some error or when it is down, to make the error page interesting – it is decided to have a 3D version of the new [topcoder] logo to be created as an origami (see below on what an origami is).

About Origami:
Origami is a modern art form. The goal of this art is to transform a flat sheet of paper into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques, and as such the use of cuts or glue are not considered to be origami.  You can find more details about Origami here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origami

Required Page:
As this NEW [topcoder] logo resembles that of a hat - so we would like you to come up with an error page that has Origami instructions to create a 3D version of this logo with a paper.

- So, we would like you think on how to create this 3D version of [topcoder] logo in a paper. This logo resembles a hat – so we would like you to come up with thoughts where a user can create this logo in paper and wear it? If you have better ideas other than hat you can show that.
- Try creating this logo with a paper and make sure to note down the folding instructions, as you will be using these folding instructions in your error page designs.
- You need to come up with error page design with folding instructions – so a user could take print out of the page and follow the folding instructions to create a 3D version of the [topcoder] logo.
- Use the [topcoder] logo colors, so the final 3D version of logo in paper has the right colors. Assume a user takes a printout of the error page with Origami instructions and uses it as per the given folding instructions – so they have final product like the [topcoder] logo.
- Size of the error page with folding instructions is up to you, but need to make sure it is in proportion with the existing Topcoder site. Also note, topcoder.com is responsive – so need to think on how your error page design will adjust in different devices.
