Challenge Summary

Welcome to the 2014 [topcoder] Open T-Shirt Design Contest with Five Winners! We are going to pick 5 awesome T-shirt designs and give out different kinds of T-shirts at this year's [topcoder] Open. The 2014 [topcoder] Open is the premier event of the year, and one of the most coveted participatory prizes is the [tco]14 t-shirt. These t-shirts will be handed out to [topcoder] members worldwide. Your job is to create an amazing t-shirt design that reflects what the [tco] is all about.

We want to see creative new ideas, not just different placements of the logo. The community will get to VOTE on the winning designs, and their top 5 will be the winners!

Round 1

Please submit your initial T-shirt designs for checkpoint review.

Round 2

Please submit your final T-shirt designs for review, after incorporating checkpoint feedback.

We are going to pick 5 awesome T-shirt designs and give out different kinds of T-shirts at this year's [topcoder] Open, lots of prizes - and lots of opportunities to have your T-shirt seen and worn by [topcoder] members worldwide. We won't be judging this alone - the [topcoder] community will get to VOTE and select the T-shirts they want to wear, so make sure your design stands out!

Contest Details
The [tco]14 t-shirt is one of the most coveted prizes at [topcoder] and the design has to be spectacular. The shirt must reflect what the [tco] is about while encompassing all the competitions that make the [tco] what it is. The shirt will be worn world-wide on over 500 competitors and staff so it needs be a good reflection of [topcoder] for international branding. We want to see really cool designs that the community would want to wear, not just spin-offs of the logo.

T-Shirt Design Requirements
Think of a T-shirt design that would individually stand out: it could be an illustration, a typographic creation, something witty - it's entirely up to you. Design something that you yourself would want to keep!
- You get to choose ANY T-shirt color you like - just make sure it complements the [tco] logo colors. We are letting you decide on the shirt color that best reflects your design.
- Remember you are designing for print media - this means no gradients and try to stay away from designs that are too intricate, as they would be hard to reproduce on fabric.
- Use provided TCO14_shirt_template.ai as base template your T-Shirt design - and set it to whichever color you prefer. FYI: DO NOT use other T-Shirt "body" template to display your design, your submission will fail screening if you use another template. Just focus on the designs requirements.
- For this 2014 [topcoder] Open T-Shirt Design, you have the entire area of the front and the back of the T-shirt to design - be creative with your use of this space!
- Try to use graphics rather than text/random words. No generic graphics, make sure there's something meaningful to your design!
- Please use the [tco]14 logo and website designs for your inspiration: http://community.topcoder.com/tco14/
- The only colors to be used are the [tco]14 logo colors (#29ABE2 light blue, #0071BC dark blue, #8CC63F green, #D9E021 yellow-green, #F7931E orange) and black and white. Please do not use a gradient as it will not print well.
- The [tco]14 logo must be used as is (ie. no color changes, keep it in its original form)
- Your design must use the [tco]14 logo (tco14_logo.ai)
- Your design must also place the [topcoder] logo (topcoder_logo.ai) anywhere on the T-shirt.
- Anywhere on the back: Please also leave five spaces for sponsors logos (however do not use any sponsor logos, just put placeholder) But keep in mind that sponsor logos will be printed in black/white.
- This T-Shirt design needs Pop! It's going to be a souvenir for everyone there, so make it something memorable - Think and design creatively!
