In this challenge, we are looking for your help to redesign the homepage based on the details/changes mentioned below. This is a homepage for the AstraZeneca Intranet which will be used by the employees of the client. We are looking forward to UI that is cool and have an arrangement of elements on the page that is more engaging to the users.

Notes.jpg: Any comments about your design for the Client

Round 2

Notes.jpg: Any comments about your design for the Client.

The purpose of the challenge is to update the given homepage storyboard and make it more engaging for the users. Please go through the issues with the current homepage and also the changes that we would like you to incorporate.

IMPORTANT!! Design Considerations:
- We would like you to have the width of the page as 1200px and height as required.
- Please see the attached couple of storyboard source, you can use any of the one as the base for your designs.
- You are required to follow the colors, font, look & feel etc from the existing design.
- Please replace the logo placeholder in the existing storyboard with the attached logo.
- We have attached a couple of reference images that client likes as they show lot of information which keeps the users engaged - we are going to follow a similar approach of having many contents to keep the user engaged, please DO NOT COPY from them.

Existing Design Problem:
In the current homepage design, we have the following issues:
- Chatter is too far down
- Three columns is too limiting, we should try more
- There isn't enough above the fold
- Too much white space
- Not enough news visible

Required Updates:

The goal of the homepage is to help people to do their job. It should allow them to stay informed of news and announcements relevant to them, quickly access favourite applications or workspaces (with one click) and remain aware of and interact with their Chatter activity stream

We need the below updates to the homepage design..

General Changes and Overall Layout:
- We would like to move to a four column layout allow for more items to be visible above the fold. We want the design to be tight and full of useful information. Show us some ideas around here.
- We would like to make the page more functional and efficient but push some boundaries visually.
- We would like to show important information at a glance without making the user scroll.

- Please make use of images to provide an engaging experience and grab attention and we would like to reflect our position as an innovation led company (use appropriate images to reflect this).
- We would like to have some engaging contents and an arrangement that shows many information. Please see the attached reference images ms-example.png and another-example.jpg (we don't have a better version of this image but this is just an example of having lot of engaging contents in the screen). Please DO NOT COPY from the reference.

Featured Items
- Include a new area for featured news stories, or other significant announcements to be highlighted.
- The features will typically feature a static or animated banner to attract attention
- Come up with your thoughts on this and where this can be included.

Chatter:
-
An individual must be able to interact with, and view the chatter feeds.
- We would like to have the chatter below the fold but need to have some indication that a user has received a new message in chatter somewhere above the fold - show us your ideas.
- We need to show an icon above the fold to indicate that there are new items in the chatter, so a user will scroll below to see the new items. So, this provides some indication that their activity feed is changing, without having to scroll or switch to another page. However this shouldn’t take up a significant proportion of the page.
- Is it possible to make the chatter section narrower? come up with ideas.

News:
- The side by side news boxes i.e. the latest news and popular news is likely to be confusing as some items will be repeated across latest and popular.
- Please have the ability to view popular news somewhere, but possible to reduce the number of news items in it.

- Make the latest news more prominent with more items.
- An individual must be able to see a reasonable number of news stories (6-10) at a glance.
- We would also like the ability to see a list of the most popular news items (3-5) over the past week, once again with filter capability, and abstract or more text than just headline.
- For both the News sections, we’d like to see how we can possibly fit in a little more imagery around news items (featured images for the latest couple) without reducing the total number visible. Ideally this should be more visually appealing than simply a complete list of headlines.
- Please include the number of “likes and comments” visible alongside news items.

Other Components:
- Apart from the above, we also need space for featured videos, polls etc..how can these be shown?
- We would like to have these above the fold.

Target Audience:
- All AstraZeneca Employees Worldwide

Judging Criteria:

- Cleanliness of your graphics and design.
- How well you capture the above mentioned requirements
- Concepts for displaying the information in a unique/creative manner
