Challenge Summary

Welcome to "HOMES - Hybrid Smartphone Application Storyboard Design Challenge". This challenge purpose is to create mobile storyboard for our smartphone application which will be developed in both iPhone and Android devices (hybrid application). At the end of this challenge, we are looking for a clean, professional mobile storyboard that consistent following our branding guidelines.

Our client HOME'S is the most extensive housing and real estate information listing service in Japan. They are part of NEXT Group company and one of the biggest housing and real estate service in Japan. They also have several service sites in several countries and languages. Please explore their site to know more about them :

In this challenge, we need [topcoder] design community help to create a new mobile storyboard for our upcoming HOME'S smartphone application. This application is for real estate agents to share and discuss their knowledge. We will build this application using Salesforce Community platform so it's gonna be like social media apps. We will use HTML5 + phonegap as the main technology so the screens for all mobile devices will be similar between each other. We need mobile storyboard for iPhone 4s+ and Android 2.3.5+. Please read more details requirement below :

    - Join Group Screen (Open/Secret)

    - Member List (all/following/follower, members information details and their timeline)
    - Topic List Screen
8. Vote Screens :
    - See Questionnaire List from admin
    - Questionnaire Details
    - Vote open questionnaire with/without comments

NOTE : 
- Please read "20140423_userstory_en.xlsx" documents for more information about interaction needed in each screens.
- We needs you to create screen flow (example can be found in map-flow.zip) so we can understand the application flow and transition screen. 
- Because the service is for B2B communication, we do not need too original design like entertainment applications. Some design examples; JetSetter, Yahoo! US, AirBnB and Facebook. It might be simpler for our target audience to use the app easily.

IMPORTANT
- Keep things consistent. This means all graphic styles should work together.
- All of the graphics should have a similar feel and general aesthetic appearance
- Your design must be editable (shape info, layers, text info must remain)
- Please avoid using any green color in your design.

Branding Guideline
- Color: Follow the color branding provided (HOME'S_brand_regulation_japanese_ver.6.0.pdf, page 5)
- Fonts: Open to designer in submission phase! Please note that we will translated the apps to Japanese language, So, please add some notification in Fonts section. We cannot use alphabetical fonts for Japanese character, so in FinalFix phase, we will ask you to convert the font to ours. Please note that, we should not accept web fonts, either. 
- Sizes: 1136-by-640 resolution 326 ppi 
- Orientation : portrait only

- Think about Friendliness, Brightness and Cleanliness when create your design.
- We need icons to be added in the entire applications, check (homes_app_icons.app.png) for icons look and feel. You don't need to create a new icons, just Provide placeholder for the icons placement, icon creation will be handle in other challenge.

Target Audience
- Japanese real estate agents. Note that their IT literacy is very low!

Judging Criteria
- How well you implement the design following the provided guidelines.
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design
- User Experience.
- Your design should possible to build and make sense as mobile application

Submission & Source Files
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Submit JPG/PNG for your submission files.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file.

 

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. 

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
