The main goal of this challenge is to take the provided design problem and design a simple, clean eBay branded responsive user experience (UX)! (We will be building this responsive, but want you to focus on the desktop versions for this challenge).
The goal of this responsive Talent Bridge Admin APP is to provide a community-driven web site which facilitates the creation of Programs, Applications, Opportunities.
Design Considerations:
- Focus on creating your unique approach to this project and the user experience
- Please follow the look and feel from the attached storyboards.
- Give importance to the overall layout and think on how a user would interact with the content on the page.
- Please use the branding guidelines given below.
- Images: You can use stock images for this challenge. Images that show people having fun in the workplace, and images that relate to the eBay corporate culture.
- We would like you to create the screens in following sizes:
- We need the screens only for Desktop - 1024px as width and height as required
Branding Guidelines:
- Need to follow the style guidelines from http://www.ebayinc.com. Please ignore the global header elements and the footer content.
- You may use the eBay logo from the above website link
- Follow the color guidelines as shown in the website.
Required Screens:
This Application will have three types of users:
Candidates: Who will apply for a Rotational, Leadership and Mentoring Programs.
Mentor/Host Leader: A User who has applied to be a mentor/Host Leader for a specific period.
Program Manager or Site Admin: They select the candidates who had applied for Talent Bridge Programs or any other user who has applied for Mentor/Host Leader positions.
We have already designed the screens for “Candidate” and for this challenge; we are going to concentrate on the "Admin (Program Manager)" Functionalities.
- The Host Leader Application exercise (accepted) takes place every six months (each Rotation)
- The Talent Matching exercise (accepted) takes place every six months (each Rotation) during the Program.
- The Candidate Application exercise (accepted) takes place once a Year
Basic Program Workflow:
A Program Manager will be able to:
1. Create a Program
2. Add an application for Candidates
3. Add an application for Host Leaders
4. Review Candidate applications (and act upon them)
5. Review Host Leader Applications (and act upon them)
6. Match Candidates to Host Leaders (Talent Match)
7. Periodically Review and make notes on the Rotation
1. Admin Dashboard
- For the Admin dashboard we want to give quick access to the daily tasks and management that the admin will be doing on a day to day basis.
- With a quick few clicks, the admin can quickly access the programs they are managing, create a new program, manage discussions, create applications for candidates and mentors, browse candidate profiles, talent match, and complete tasks.
- Admin will have access to the already created applications and create new applications for candidates and mentors.
- They will have access to the daily tasks and management that admin will be doing on a day to day basis.
2. Create Program Application for Candidates
Rotational Programs typically only allow a few people into each class year, so we need a premise for allowing Candidates to apply. The Program Manager (or a delegate) will define the fields for the Application.
- They should be able to build a form by adding any typical form element type: Text, Email, Phone, Text-area, Checkbox, Radio Buttons, file upload(s), etc. as well as Text blocks, separators and field groups.
- We may want to have a few sample forms pre built to allow the PM to easily add and edit a form. Maybe also allow a PM to clone an existing form? Looking for your thoughts here.
- The Program’s Application may differ from year to year, so we want the PM to be able to create new forms, edit/copy old ones and enable/disable each at will. (Functionality similar to WuFoo forms).
3. Create Program Application for Host Leaders
Similar to the Candidate Application above, the PM of a Program will need to create an application for Host Leaders to offer an Opportunity on their team.
- As state above in candidate application, they will be able to include any input type, and it is their responsibility to address how their Opportunity will grow the Candidate(s).
4. Review Program Candidate(s)
A PM will be presented with a list of all Candidates who have applied to be a part of the Program. They will be able to add notes on each application. Also, they should be able to re-order the list, filter the list, export the list (with notes) to excel, and perform a few simple actions such as accept, decline, etc.
- User will start off with the Program details page (4_1_Program_details_opportunities.jpg)..and will be able to select a candidate.
- Regarding these actions, a Candidate may be “accepted” into or “Declined” from the Program, but they should not be automatically notified through the system.
- There may be a function to notify/communicate with all candidates (or something like that) however most cases will have this acceptance be done in person.
- The PM may want to make notes on a candidate, and potentially communicate with them through the application display page (encourage them to make adjustments to application, add references, etc.). This discussion should be available to both PM and the Candidate.
5. Review Talent Matching (Rotation Placement)
- Once a Class of Candidates has been accepted into a program, and Host Leader Opportunities have been entered, and the Candidates have selected their preference, the PM will finalize the Candidate to Host Leader matching.
- The PM needs to see a comprehensive list of all candidates and their Host Leader Opportunity preferences and be able to re-order, notate, and finalize this matching.
NOTE: THIS PIECE IS KEY - many users of this application will find this the most important part as they currently have to perform this function offline (in excel!).
6. Program Detail Page (Optional)*
- A detailed view of a program where a PM can view applications, match candidates to opportunities, view opportunites, chat with program participants and general day to day management of the program.
- We already have a program details page (4_1_Program_details_opportunities.jpg) in the attached storyboards but it was created for a candidate, you may use it as a base but update it to make sure it has the admin capabalities and allows the user to chat with other candidates etc..
7. Create Program (Optional)*
- Running a Rotational Program will require a substantial amount of time and budget. Therefore, Program creation will not happen very often.
- In the cases where a new Program is created, a prospective Program Manager will need to define the overview information for the program, the Application for Host Leaders as well as the Program Applications for Candidates.
The basic requirements for a Program are:
- Program Title (i.e. “Technology Leadership Program”)
- Description
- Logo (Optional)
- Delegate(s) - People who can administer the Program on behalf of the PM. Should be able to search against/autocomplete LDAP for this.
Target Audience
- Internal eBay employees
Judging Criteria
- How well you design the provided design challenge
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design.
- Design and User Experience.
