Challenge Summary

Welcome to the TCO14 New Onsite Events Pages Storyboard Challenge. TCO site will no longer be just about a tournament but it will also about the Developer Conference, a Celebrity Match, and more. For this reason, we want to update the current TCO14 site and we need you help to do this. 

For this challenge, you are going to design the new pages for Tournament Overview, Developer Conference and Celebrity Match with at least 5 pages. 

Round 1

1) Initial submission design with all the features mentioned in the Requirement section.
2) Any note for the client about your submission
3) Number your submission (01, 02, 03, etc...) for easy client's review 

Round 2

1) Final submission design with all the features mentioned in the Requirement section plus any checkpoint updates.
2) Any note for the client about your submission
3) Number your submission (01, 02, 03, etc...) for easy client's review 


The [topcoder] Open will not be just a tournament anymore, it will also about Developer Conference, a Celebrity Match, it will be much bigger. We want to update the existing TCO14 website with additional pages and features that are outlined below. 

Features to consider:
The following are the features that we would like you to incorporate in creating the new pages.    

1) Global Navigation
Our existing navigation is a 3 level navigation, we want to implement main global navigation that will bring the navigation into 4 level. See the provided sitemap to get a view of the new navigation. The existing navigation of TCO14 site will fall under the "Tournament" nav. 

2) Breadcrumbs
To help users keep context for where they are in the site. 

3) Style and Colors
As much as possible, we want to retain the existing colors and general style of the site. New navigation icons should follow the format and sytle of the existing icons. 

Required Pages:
The following are the minimum required screens. 

1) Tournament Overview
- see the provided sketch for guidelines of this page
- this page will contain the high level information for users about the tournament, giving them easy access to the individual pages for information or actions (Registration, Travel Info, etc.)
- sections are group into categories, each topic in their sections should have a title, blurb and link about what they are and what they'll be linking to, and have the title be an obvious link, use dummy text as needed.
- Developer Conference and Celebrity Match should have a logo, use logo placeholder for now
- Agenda section is a tabular base content with date, time, description, and location columns. Use dummy text 

2) Developer Conference
- this will be a landing page, full width 
- this will have a Developer Conference logo, use logo placeholder for the meantime.
- add a dummy paragraph introduction about this page, you may also include image ( image placeholder ) somewhere in the page
- add link/button/image to Agenda and Talk/Speaker 

3) Celebrity Match
- this will be a landing page, full width 
- this will have a Celebrity Match logo, use logo placeholder for the meantime.
- add a dummy paragraph introduction about this page, you may also include image ( image placeholder ) somewhere in the page
- add link/button/image to Competitors & Bios and Agenda 

4) Celebrity Match - Competitors & Bios
- this will serve as inner page with 2 columns (main column and right sidebar)
- should have list of competitors and their bios (like names, photos, expertise, accomplishents/achievements, etc...)

5) Wireframe Tournament
- this is just to show the updated 4 level navigation and breadcrumbs how they look like
- you can use a screenshot of the existing Wireframe Tournament page.
- apply the new navigation style and the breadcrumbs here

Submission & Source Files
Preview Image
Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Please upload PNG/JPEG images in a zip file with all requested contest requirements stated above.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop or similar and saved as layered PSD files.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics, images (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. 

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Submission format

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.

Fonts, Stock Photos, and Icons:

All fonts, stock photos, and icons within your design must be declared when you submit. DO NOT include any 3rd party files in your submission or source files. Read about the policy.

Screening:

All submissions are screened for eligibility before the challenge holder picks winners. Don't let your hard work go to waste. Learn more about how to  pass screening.
