Challenge Summary

Welcome to Appirio Application Framework Desktop Wireframe Challenge. In this challenge, we would like to develop an application framework that any Appirio application—whether developed by the Technology Team, or elsewhere inside Appirio—can “plug” into in a consistent fashion.

We previously ran a wireframe challenge for mobile views and got great results, in this challenge you need to create the same views for desktop as this is going to be a responsive application.

At the end of this wireframe challenge, we are looking to have a complete solution for the User Experience and flow of the application.

Round 1

Submit your initial wireframes for Checkpoint feedback
From Feature 1 to Feature 13
Notes.jpg: Any comments about your design for the Client

Round 2

Your Final wireframes for all the required pages with all checkpoint feedback implemented.
From Feature 1 to Feature 18
Notes.jpg: Any comments about your design for the Client

Challenge Details:
The Purpose of this challenge is to come up with wireframes for application framework. Think of the Appirio Application Framework (AAF) as “Google Apps” for Appirio. In the same way that Google ties together a number of distinct and separate applications under the Google Apps umbrella experience, we would like to do the same with the AAF.

Wireframe Expectations:
- Produce HTML click through wireframes that can be used to demonstrate all mentioned functionalities as required in each round.
- The website must be very easy to use and intuitive. Keep that in mind when designing your solution.
- You MUST cover all use cases mentioned in challenge details below.
- This application will be responsive (desktop and mobile devices), but for this challenge you only need to create wireframes for desktop views.
- You are provided with mobile wireframe views in order to create the same views for desktop as this application will be responsive.
You MUST use wireframes note pane in every single page you design to explain what items are addressed in that page from the documentation, what things you added/changed/removed, use it to make your idea clearer and help the client to give you constructive feedback.

Wireframes Requirements:
Please follow the detailed wireframes requirements provided in the attached (Required Features.zip) file, please read it carefully and post to challenge forum if you have questions.
- A Universal Header that can live atop any application that integrates with the framework like Appirio logo, search module, application switcher, notification area and identity reflector.
- An Application Bar. This element is reserved for use by the application itself. A specific application may or may not make use of all the features of this element, but they should be commonly-needed enough like application name, switcher between sub applications, application actions area, a view switcher and application settings control.
- In addition to the Universal Header and the Application Bar, the AAF has need of a number of Common Components for use by applications, like chatter, table view components, grid view components and a common display filter.

Supporting Documents:
- Appirio brand style guide (AppirioStyleGuide_2014_v2.pdf.zip)
- Required features document (Required Features.zip)
- Mobile Wireframe (Mobile WF.zip)

Target Audience:
- Stakeholders inside Appirio

Judging Criteria:
Your submission will be judged on the following criteria:
- User experience
- Completeness and accuracy of the areas of functionality and content
- How well your wireframes provide a consistent user flow and clear information architecture for the application

Submission & Source Files:
Preview Image
Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Generated HTML files with all the requested contest requirements stated above.

Source Files
Wireframes should be built in Axure. The resulting files should have generated HTML files. Also, all the content must be listed and the pages are linked together to show page flow.

Final Fixes
As part of the Final Fix phase, you may be asked to remove, update, or change some features of the wireframe.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

Stock Photography

Stock photography is not allowed in this challenge. All submitted elements must be designed solely by you. See this page for more details.
