Welcome to Community Wine Portal Responsive UX Design Concepts Challenge!

In this challenge, we are looking for your initial designs concepts for a wine portal based on the below given details and references. This responsive design concept is geared towards the wine enthusiast. It should have a sophisticated look and feel and emulate the finer aspects of the wine drinker culture.

This is a community based site focussed on people who drink and enjoy wine. Think of interesting functionality that would accompany this application. Users should be able to have a profile, be able to favorite different wines, Rate and comment on other wines, browse food recipes and wine pairings, share drinks and comments about their favorite wines with their friends, locate local tasting rooms and schedule a tasting, shop for wines, post messages about drinks they are enjoying and where, rate and comment on different wines and bars, and browse different wine categories and also find wines based on the country/region.

We are looking for better user experience and utmost need to have a attractive user interface that grabs the attention of the users.

IMPORTANT! Design Considerations
- For this challenge we are providing wireframe and design guidance for you!
- DO NOT COPY the wireframes exactly - they are meant to help guide you and let you understand the application the audience would like to see designed. Think about the user experience/user interactions and show us your solutions! You can do something different or might make more sense!
- Feel free to use the "Tasting Room" logo from the attached design direction pdf..
- You may either use the color palette which we had suggested in the design direction pdf or you can think of colors that suits this application.
- This site will be built using HTML 5 - so looking for you to come up responsive designs, we need the below screen sizes:
Desktop: 1024px width and height as required
Mobile: 320 x 480 px

1. Wine Community Home:
We need a homepage for the wine portal, the homepage need to have below elements/features and drive users into the site.
- Include relevant imagery to drive users into the site, think modern and be creative with this.
- Site should allow users to search for knowledge articles.
- Product Filters which allows them to search wines based on “wine type, price, character (dry to sweet), Country of Origin, Region and options to view Recommended dishes”..feel free to improve the wireframes.
- We need a way to show the top topics discussed from the recent conversations that had happened within the site.
- We expect to have few teaser images that grabs attention of the users, clicking on which takes the user to the article page.
- Navigation
- Search?
- Recent wines?
- What else does this community portal need?

2. Product Search Results:
- Based on the search/filters entered by the user in the homepage, we need to show the results
- Search results will need to show the basic product details with product thumbnail image
- Think on ways to make this a better user experience.
- What would be the important things a user would be looking for here?
- We still need the ability to show the Search and filters options - incase if the user decides to customize their query further.

3. Product Details:
- We are looking to be innovative in the way the product details are shown.
- Meal suggestions: Need to show suggestions for meal and details on how to prepare them
- Cross selling products: This area should allow customer to have related products that can sold along with wine.
- Looking for a Amazon style rating product rating
- Also need product collaboration, possibly allow users to comment on a product and have discussions around it
- We need a way to show the topics discussed from the recent conversations that had happened within the site.
- As this is a wine community portal, we need to show the top experts in currently shown product within the community.
- Allow user to share this product through social networking sites
- Wine detail page
- Wine rating (official and community ratings side-by-side)
- Options to share?
- Purchase wines?
- Any other ideas?

4. Article Page:
- We want this to have a clean typographical editorial look. 
- A user should be able to quickly browse the article to pull out key points of information.
- Come up with ideas on how to show this page?
- This page shows the article about a wine, how to prepare a suggested meal etc..

5. Community Social (Group Page) - Chatter:
- Chatter is a Salesforce functionality that we are adding in...we are expecting this to be shown as a part of dashboard and then have it expand to a full chatter page (this page)..
- This is an expanded conversation of comments about a topic, a wine, or something else that the community finds relevant. 
- We are looking for your thoughts on how to make this chatter page intuitive and innovative for users.

7. Unique Feature for Mobile (optional)
- Create a unique feature for your mobile application
- Ability to take a photo (scan a bottle barcode?) and save it to the application
- Wine meetups?
- Wine educational section. Give information about wine varietals and wine regions with an interactive map?

8. Wine Community (optional)
- Listing of your wine network 
- Share drinks and comments

9. Presentation Screen 
- Create a presentation screen of your design concept!
- Showcase your submission
- This will be a great way to showcase your design to our client
- 1024x768 (4:3 Ratio)

Submission & Source Files
Preview Image
Create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Please upload PNG images in a zip file with all requested contest requirements stated above. Number your files (01, 02, 03, etc) this will help review them in order.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator and saved as layered PSD/AI files.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics, images (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors

  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
