Challenge Summary

The next big thing in design – that’s summarizes the best welcome ever to our great design community!

We are going to redesign this project website in all senses, UI and UX wise. We need your help to come up with very creative ideas and modern design concepts.

This challenge is not a continuation. We launched another challenge with the same purpose recently. We just want more ideas, more concepts, interesting and unique. We'll be selecting multiple winners, the more you submit the better. We're willing to select multiple winners if the client likes the submissions.

Welcome to the creativity challenge!

Round 1

For your R1 deliverables please submit the following features requested under “Design Requirements” section.
1) Home Page Desktop and Mobile view.
2) Games Page Desktop view.

Round 2

Final design will contain all the requested features under “Design Requirements” section plus any updates from client feedback.
1) Home Page Desktop and Mobile view.
2) Games Page Desktop and Mobile view.
3) News Page Desktop and Mobile view.

The primary goal of this challenge is to rethink three pages of the Verigames website. We are looking for a total overhaul of the concept. We need fresh ideas that contribute with a very modern design, something out of the box and also that implement good UX practices.

We envision a fresh, banging, sleek, and professional look that works fantastic with responsive, and if we can be integrated with cool magic coolness such as soft animations and so on. This is a gaming website. Not hardcore gaming though, it’s targeted for puzzle-like gamers mostly. You are encouraged to explore the website, register and play the games in order to get acquainted with the site experience.

We already launched a challenge with this same goal. We won’t accept any submission similar to our previous challenge (see winning submissions attached). DO NOT COPY anything from those submissions, they are just reference. This particular challenge has a unique requirement you’ll read below (content-focused design). We need more ideas, more interesting submissions, sky is the limit!

The challenge attachments needed to use 7zip to compress files due to the large size. Download 7zip to be able to uncompress the files in case you have any issue.

Branding and Guidelines
- Provide desktop and mobile designs per each page (responsive). Maximum width of the visible design for desktop is 1000px and 320px for mobile.
- Use the attached Verigames and [topcoder] logos similar to the way they are represented in the footer.
- The new page UI style and UX must be cutting edge, modern, fresh, very cool.
- Colors should be around the logo palette, however we are very open to ideas and suggestions. Colors should that match nicely with the logo.
- Fonts must be something beautiful to look at. If you’re going for the fancy fonts make sure they are available in the fonts policies lists and also in Google Fonts library. Declare your fonts according to the Studio font’s policies.

Design Requirements
Overall
- Widgets and content must be the same, however we’re open to ideas about layout, animations, transitions, etc.
- We’d like to see different kind of layouts. Think about making the content more enjoyable, enticing.
- We envision cool animation transitions. Provide several screens if necessary to showcase your work ideas.
- Download and use these game assets to create the graphics you need.
- Make sure to show the chat widget in closed state, as shown in the provided screenshots.
- Avoid using “Lorem ipsum” text as much as possible. Extract content from the website pages.
- For social media icons use the default branding look.

1) Home Page – CONTENT FOCUSED
- Follow home.jpg from VerigamesWebsitePages.zip.
- Or visit Verigames Home for more details.
- We want to introduce the concept of content focused design for the home page. Basically, we want to build the design around the information/data as the main concern.
- Content involves text and media (images, videos). The design should be determined by content. You must design a strategy and content workflow to achieve this goal.
- A good example of this is mashable.com. You can explore this website BUT DO NOT COPY anything, use for inspiration and learning only.
- Research, read and explore content-focused best practices and find a way to apply them to the website.

2) Games Page - CONTENT FOCUSED
- Follow games.jpg from VerigamesWebsitePages.zip.
- Or visit Verigames Games for more details.
- Same as #1. Apply concept-focused design concepts to this page.
- There is a particular creativity challenge here. We only have the games descriptions, which are short. If we want to apply more information-design concepts we should add more items, such as how to play brief, videos, news, maybe game screenshots and another way to navigate them, NOT a carousel probably. A new way that allows to browse/scroll and see all of this information nicely displayed. Browse the games pages to get familiar with the information (StormboundXylemCircuitbotFlowJamGhostMap) in order to think about this design problem and come up with a solution.
- Consider this design must work in mobile view too. These games can’t be played on mobile, so please place a VERY FRIENDLY message with something like “browse our game choices but use a computer in order to help the world playing”. You are totally encouraged to find a way to show a mobile design that keeps the user engaged and not disappointed for not being able to play on mobile for now.

3) News Page – CONTENT FOCUSED
- Follow news.png from VerigamesWebsitePages.zip.
- Or visit Verigames News for more details.
- Same as #1. Apply content-focused design concepts to this page.
