Welcome to the UNI - Sales Portal Tablet App Design Concepts Challenge. In this challenge, we are looking for your initial design concepts that will help us graphically realize the screens for a new tablet application, which will be used by the UNI sales representatives to help them with their day-to-day tasks.

We currently do not have any formal requirements. We are looking for you to provide design concepts and click-path solutions based on the provided requests. This is the first step in planning our new tablet user experience!

In this contest we are looking for DESIGN CONCEPTS on how this Tablet Application could work. What should the user see and experience when using the application?

Challenge Description:
UNI Services is a service-focused leader of branded uniform and facility services programs in the United States. We are looking to design an iPad appliation that will enable/help our field sales representatives with their day-to-day tasks. 

The goal of this challenge is to kick-start the design and user experience discussion around how this Sales Portal Tablet application could possible look and work.

User Scenario
Field Sales Representative
A UNI Field Sales Representative calls or meets with potential UNI customers and helps sell and manage services that their customers have purchased. They currently
 have a laptop where they review prospects and do cold calls, do geopoint for mapping and pull up geopoints through the SFDC1 application on their phones. We want to move everyone to tablets and provide more Sales features 

Day in the life:
- User looks at tablet
- User will see a dashboard of features (Tasks, Opportunities, Map, Training Content, Quote Calculator, Camera, Access to the product catalog)
- User can view a map of their territory to see current or potential customer locations
- User can view their customer accounts and see details, see sales recomendations
- User can see information about their customers facilities
- User can take notes
- User can take photos (document facility information)
- User can view their calendar
- User can view and create tasks - see what is planned for the day
- User has the ability to use a calculator to create price quotes
- User can view current product catalog (items they are selling!)
- User can see training content and company news/updates.

We are looking for the [topcoder] design Community to help us with planning our new application experience!

Screen size:
- iPad: 1024px by 768px
- This will be a native application - remember to design for native (not browser based) application

Design Concept Goals: 
- How should this tablet application graphically look?
- Suggest the user screen flows and navigation.
- If this is a sales application - what should the priority features be?
- How quickly (when opening the application) could a user find what they are looking for?
- Think simple but effective solutions! Have fun creating this!

Supporting Documents:
- Please use the colors and brand from the attached Branding Guidelines (Branding Guidelines.pdf.zip)

Required Screens:
 1) Dashboard:
- User should be able to access all the other pages from this page.
- User will see a dashboard of features (Tasks, Opportunities, Map, Training Content, Quote Calculator, Camera, Access to the product catalog)
- We do not need a login screen - this would be native iPad application.
- Explore how this page should work (and keep it simple!)

2) Navigation:
- How does the user navigate this application?
- Include navigation that you think fits with this iPad application
- Focus on the priority items and how things should be sized 

3) Map Page:
- User should be able to see a map of their territory.
- The map should also mark customers addresses.

4) Opportunity Page:
- An opportunity is the chance to do business with an existing client.
- Show opportunity detail (Client Detail), what should be represented here?
- User could get here from the dashboard

5) Tasks Page:
- User checks his tasks from this page.
- How should we represent the tasks?
- Would the user be able to remove the task from his list when the job is done?

6) Leads Page:
- A lead is a company you are not yet doing business with.
- User can check leads from this page.
- What data should be presented for leads? Company Name? Mobile Number? Map Direction?

7) Training Material Page:
- User should be able to browse training files and videos
- User would be able to share those training files with the client.

8) Pricing and Calculator Page:
- User should be able to configure pricing while working with a customer
- Select products and build an price?

9) Camera Page:
- User should be able to use the iPad camera to take pictures of a customer facility and take notes.

10) Catalog Page:
- User should be able to view and share products and pricing
- User should be able to share those catalogs with the client.

Important:
- Keep things consistent. This means all graphic styles should work together.
- All of the graphics should have a similar feel and general aesthetic appearance.

Target User:
- Filed Sales Representative.

Judging Criteria:
- How well you plan the user experience and capture your ideas visually
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design
- Your design should possible to build and make sense as a tablet application

Submission & Source Files:
Preview Image
Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Submit JPG/PNG for your submission files.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file, or Adobe Illustrator as a layered AI file.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. We may ask you to update your design or graphics based on checkpoint feedback.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

How To Submit

  • Upload your submission in three parts (Learn more here). Your design should be finalized and should contain only a single design concept (do not include multiple designs in a single submission).
  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
