Challenge Summary

Welcome to Student Toolset Application Responsive Design Concepts Challenge!

In this challenge, we are looking for your design ideas for a responsive web application that acts as a toolset useable by students (and staff) which will provide clarity and consistency in the management of a student’s time and efforts while they are studying a program at client's university.

The purpose of this challenge is to design concepts for the features developed as part of this project that must have a compelling, intuitive, and innovative look and feel.  The User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX) must be one that allows students to easily understand how to achieve their desired goals while doing so in a manner that is engaging and professional.

Design Considerations:
- We are looking for a compelling, intuitive, and innovative look and feel.
- We need pages of the following sizes..desktop (1024 px, height as required) and Mobile (320 x 480 px).
- Please use appropriate stock images (
university/college/student) that are relevant to this concept.
- Please use a placeholder for logo.
- We have attached reference link to inspirational designs, please DO NOT COPY

- We would like you to follow the colors from the attached branding guidelines.
The User Interface and User Experience (UI/UX) must be one that allows students to easily understand how to achieve their desired goals while doing so in a manner that is engaging and professional.

The UI/UX must be able to:

- Adapt to future business needs and processes in a changing educational environment
- Remain flexible and extensible
- Provide an integrated, seamless, and intuitive experience among a broad set of tools

Scenario:
Assume a student has just enrolled in Master of Science in Information Technlogy (2 academic years with 2 terms/year) at the client’s university and we introduce them to this new responsive web application that can accessed from any device so it helps them understand the overall courses plan which helps to keep track of progress through the period they study at this university, ability to see the current, actual and the potential educational roadmap and also give them the ability to see the skills acquired through their course of study, also allow them to be shared with ..

Required Pages:
We would love to see your design thoughts based on the features highlighted below..let us know if you need any clarification on any of the features these features..

General:
- We need an overall progress indicator which need to be shown at all times within this application to indicate that a user still have 00 academic years to complete their degree, terms remaining (for example: a semester divides a academic year into two terms, trimester - three terms etc..: you can find more information on this here), received any financial aid..etc.
- Think on how to visually help students view their current progress and show their existing status (what term they are in..etc.…)

1. Degree Plan:
- One of the key feature of this application is the degree plan..this helps the student to understand the courses they will be part of, allow them to register for the seminar day/time and also electives during a part of this degree program.

1.1 Course Sequence:
- They will be able to see how the syllabus will be sequenced/distributed across the entire duration of the degree, duration could change based on the type of degree chosen by the student (For example: A "MS in IT" student typically needs to study 2 academic years with 2 terms/year)
- It will be good to show a sequence/distribution of courses that will be taught for a particular term etc…
- Will a timeline view work for this?
- Need a way to indicate the current course the student is studying.
- It will be nice to have to allow a student interact with each other during their current course to allow them, maybe think of something like a chatter that allows them to discuss, share any documents/notes with their peers, ask any questions, etc..

1.2 Course/credit fulfillment options:
- A course credit is the number of hours a student needs to attend in order to achieve the degree.
- It will be good to show the number of credit hours required for each of the terms and the show a comparison between that required for the overall course..
- Also think of how to track number of hours a student had attended for a term - so it helps them to manage their overall time being spent.

1.3 Registration for Seminar Day/Time & Choose Electives:
- Students will be able to register for their desired seminar day/time, which could be for a term
- How can be show the list of seminars/timings for a particular, there could be few seminars conducted during a term.
- These seminar could have a particular/limited number of intakes after which a student may not be able to register.
- Also we need to allow the user to choose electives..

2. Educational Roadmap:
- A student should be able to view the current, actual and the potential educational roadmap, i.e. this roadmap will help the student visualizes next course they can do based on their existing program.
- How do you think the roadmap needs to be shown in the design?

2.1 Visualize Impact of Program Change:
- There could be few students who may wish to change to a different program in the middle of a existing program but many of them do not know impact of this change and how it would affect their future educational roadmap i.e. the next degree (higher studies) they wish to pursue could have an impact and they may not be able to pursue the degree they wish because of this degree change (or) this new program might be of a longer duration (more number of academice years) compared to the exising program - so we need a feature that allows the user to see what impact a student might face because of this change.
- Allow some way for the student to input the program they wish to change and then we show the impacts of changing from their current course to the new one..just think from a design perspective on how to show this information.
- This feature will allow students to see the impacts of a potential program change before committing to it and need to show advising as needed
- It needs to display/default by degree of enrollment, but will show the applicability of courses completed in other degrees/enrollments in current or a potential degree.

3. Outcomes Transcript Toolset:
- We need a way to show Students Outcomes Transcript Toolset which will show a visual representation of a student’s performance in regards to learning outcomes that includes
--- Course Level Outcomes: This will contain the professor/lecturer who taught the subject, scores and grades received by the student for different subjects.. (for scores and grades, you can use some dummy values..score:00 and grade: B)
--- General Education Literacy (GEL): The goal of the General Education Literacy is to ensure that students understand and can apply ethics, critical thinking, research, technology, arts and humanities, communication, mathematics, science, and social science to their personal, professional and academic lives. These subjects are included along with the core subjects ..we need to show how a user had performed in each of these (scores and grade) will work.
--- Professional Competencies (PCs): Just shows a remark of how professionally the student is skilled based on the above metrics (scores + grade).
- It provides the student with an articulation of the skills that he or she excels at as well as areas for improvement which can be shared with an Advisor or Employer.
