Challenge Summary

Welcome to "Fast!! Secure - Lock my laptop design concept challenge". Our client wants to build new application named "Lock My Laptop" which will leverage BlueTooth pairing on a mobile or other BlueTooth device, and automatically lock the workstation when the BlueTooth signal is lost. In simpler terms, the user can walk away from their workstation and know that it will lock automatically once their device is out-of-range.  The device can be any BlueTooth device already paired with their computer (wearables, smartphone, tablet, wireless headpohones, etc). The applicaton will be a desktop application for multiple operating systems. In this challenge, we need your creative design concept/visual ideas to create the best look and feel for skinning the application based on the wireframe.

In this challenge we are looking for the best looking design (images, color scheme, etc.) and some additional concepts. The goal is to have the concept well formed and the graphics for skinning the application in future challenges. Overall, the design should follow the wireframe provided by IBM.

Important!! We have a FAST timeline set for this challenge, so Join NOW!

Project Brief
The initial idea for this application is to protect unauthorized access to individual user workstation. User workstation should get lock automatically with user's paired mobile devices. Only one device can be selected to "watch" for signal / proximity loss.  So, the idea is simple. After the user installs the application on their workstation, they will have an opportunity to pick which of the paireded BlueTooth device should be the one device to be "watched" so that the laptop is locked when it's signal is lost.  Therefore, once the app is activated and configured, when the user get's a certain distance away from his or her workstation, turns off the device, or however the bluetooth connection lost - the workstation will be locked  automatically.

It is important to keep in mind that BlueTooth device pairing is handled by the OS (operating system) and not this application. So the application will list which devices are already paired and connected to the workstation. The user can only choose which device to "watch" from this list.

User Story

1. Imagine you, as one of our client's employees; just installed the "Lock My Laptop" application in your workstation.
2. You launch the application and the application will show a splash screen.
3. The first time you run the application, it will need to be configured so that one of the paired and connected BlueTooth devices is selected as the device to "watch". Therefore, the app will display "paired" devices that are currently connected to the user, so they can select one of them to be the target device.
4. By default, if you're away from your workstation and connection between your BlueTooth device and workstation is lost, the application will trigger the OS to lock the screen.
5. [Concept] - You find that unintentional locking is sometimes annoying. You might want to consider a feature where the user is able to put the application in "sleep mode" for some duration so the application does not lock.

Screen Requirements :
01. Splash Screen Scenario
Check Page 1 and 2 from LockMyLaptop-v4.pdf for references.
- By default this screen should appear first when user open the application in their desktop.
- provides useful information in the splash screen, development team, special thanks to, etc.
- Simple logo creation that match with this application maybe?
- loading bar creation?
- Design the splash screen to look engaging and professional.

02. Dashboard Screen - No Devices Found Scenario
Check Page 3 from LockMyLaptop-v4.pdf for references.
- This screen will display immediately after the splash screen closes.
- User will find brief information on how to use the application and how the application will function.
- A wizard style approach is used to configure and select which device to use for locking.
- application slogan "you leave, it locks!" needs to be create engaging.
- Explore how this page should work (and keep it simple!)

03. Dashboard Screen - Showing Multiple Devices Found Scenario
Check Page 4 from LockMyLaptop-v4.pdf for references.
- This screen scenario will be use to show devices already paired with the workstation that are "on" (in a connected state).
- The list of paired/connected BlueTooth devices should be easy to read and large enough so that the user can see the devices name and/or device description.
- Additional form elements for showing the screen as disabled when no devices are present, and certain elements when a device has not been selected as the target. The user will not be allowed to continue until this step is finished.
- User should have an ability to refresh the list of devices to see any new devices they may have paired with the workstation/laptop.
- Explore how this page should work (and keep it simple!)

04. Dashboard Screen - Selecting Devices for Connection Scenario
Check Page 5 from LockMyLaptop-v4.pdf for references.
- After multiple devices showed up, user can select one of the devices from the list, as the target; to connect with the application.
- Only 1 devices can be selected as the target device.
- when user select the devices, selects button should be appear so user can go to next step.
- Explore how this page should work (and keep it simple!)

05. Dashboard Screen - Selected Devices Scenario
Check Page 6 from LockMyLaptop-v4.pdf for references.
- After the user selects one BlueTooth device from the list, the user will then need to click the "select" button.
- Clicking the "select" button will configure the application to "watch" or "listen" only to that BlueTooth device.
- Need some scenario to show that the target BlueTooth device and the application are successfully connected.
- User should be able to reconfigure the application and use a different device in the list, but first, the user must remove the current selected device.
- Explore how this page should work (and keep it simple!)

06. Dashboard Screen - Option to disable Screen Lock Scenario
Check Page 7 from LockMyLaptop-v4.pdf for references.
- Below selected devices form, there is button "disable screen lock".
- This screen have function to give user ability to choose whether they want to enable/disable the screen lock function.
- by default, the button should be set in disable mode.
- provide us some notifications before user disable the screen locks. some message like "are you sure you want to....etc".
- Any other useful content should appear here? Any ideas?
- Explore how this page should work (and keep it simple!)

07. FAQ Screen Scenario
Check Page 8 from LockMyLaptop-v4.pdf for references.
- This screen can be reach by clicking the FAQ link from dashboard.
- This screen will show FAQ information to our user so they can find more information about this application.

08. Settings Screen Scenario
Check Page 9 from LockMyLaptop-v4.pdf for references.
- This screen can be reach by clicking the search link from dashboard.
- This screen will be use by our user to configure some application features.
- In the wireframes, we have two settings option, checking connection interval and number of unsuccessful connection attempt.
- Any other settings that we should provides in this screen?
- Any other useful content should appear here? Any ideas?
