Welcome to the Adeona Mobile Application Design Concepts Challenge! This challenge is focused on creating design concepts/visual ideas to create a Mobile Application that will be used to enhance vacation experience for users of the app and make their vacation even better.

We are looking for you to provide design concepts and click-paths. This is the first step in planning our mobile user experience!

In this contest we are looking for DESIGN CONCEPTS on how this Mobile Application could work. What should the user see and experience when using the application?

Challenge Description:
Adeona is a global leader in hospitality and vacation ownership. They aim to consistently exceed expectations with high quality resorts and incomparable hospitality.

Adeona provides Vacations to members and guests the world over. Each vacation is as important to us as it is to you, so it’s our goal to give every guest a flawless, relaxing, and memorable experience. You’ll always receive a superior level of personal service and commitment, year after year.

We are looking for the [topcoder] design Community to help us with planning our new "user experience" (UX).

Note: Adeona is a codename for the client.

Branding Guidelines:

Design Concept Goals:
- How should this mobile application look?
- Read the user story and decide what should the priority features be (what is the priority navigation for this user?)
- How quickly the user can find what he wants?
- The application should be easy to use.
- Think simple but effective solutions! Have fun creating this - let us know how you think it should work!
- We want this to be MODERN application design!

Screen Sizes:
- Mobile: 320px x 480px
Make sure you create graphic in 'shape' format, so when resize for retina versions, graphic still look sharp! It will be great if you can provide the landscape version.

Suggested User Story (feel free to suggest or remove features):
- Heath is going to a vacation with Adeona Company.
- Heath opens the app and see a list of all reservations he has and selects a trip.
- Heath takes a picture within the app where he can add a caption, he also can add his location by enabling the GPS.
- Heath can edit his albums by reordering and deleting individual pictures (something like Shutterfly)
- Heath can share individual pictures on Facebook or the whole album on Facebook. Or share via URL.
- Heath can take quick surveys to collect interests "what are you looking forward to", Adeona gears the surveys based upon the property, so they can gather likes/interest from the member.
- Heath can open recommendations for Restaurants, Entertainment, Outdoor Activities, Tours, etc - based on selected interests or ratings from the member community. Also the app can show Partner sponsored
recommendations with offers/coupons to Heath.

- Heath can open members forum and post what he has in his mind to share with other members of the app.
- Heath can rate local activities and restaurant and influence sorting for non-Partner sponsored recommendations.
- Heath can refer friends to take this trip by adding phone#, name, address and email. Referrals are saved to the member profile and can be used to continually share pics / the experience
- Heath can also take end of trip summary survey to state what he loved about this trip.
- Heath can contact Adeona from within the app.
- Heath can see a timeline of the vacations he took over his lifetime.

- How does the user navigate this application?
- Include navigation that you think fits with this application
- Focus on the priority items and how things should be sized

1) Landing Page:
This is the landing page for the application.
- This page should reflect the Adeona branding and look "premium" in design
- It should very clearly show what user can do with this application and what the application is all about.
- A user can also click into a “getting started” section to get a more detailed overview of how to use the application.

2) Login Page
- A user will be able to enter username, password have a Login button.
- We also need a Forgot Password link.

3) Dashboard:
- User should be able to access all the other pages from this page.
- User will see a dashboard of features (Trips, albums, Take a photo, Recommendations, Profile, Members Forum, Rate, Refer, Surveys and Contact Adeona)
- Explore how this page should work (and keep it simple!)

4) Trips Page:
- From this page the user should be able to view a list of all reservations he has (this will come from Adeona backend system) and order them chronologically. This can include upcoming as well as past trips.
The user should be able to see their full timeline.

- User will be able to select a trip from the list and view the albums he has for this trip, or start taking pictures for the selected trip.
- User can edit his albums by reordering and deleting individual pictures (something like Shutterfly)
- User can share individual pictures on Facebook or the whole album on Facebook. Or share via URL.

5) Albums Page:
- User can edit his albums by reordering and deleting individual pictures (something like Shutterfly)
- User can share individual pictures on Facebook or the whole album on Facebook. Or share via URL.
- User can assign albums to trips.

6) Take a photo Page:
- The user should be able to access this page from any where from the app.
- User can take pictures within the app where he can tag his friends or add a caption, he also can add his location by enabling the GPS.
- User can share individual pictures on Facebook or the whole album on Facebook. Or share via URL.
- User can assign photos to albums.

7) Recommendations Page:
- User can open recommendations for:
-- Restaurants
-- Entertainment
-- Outdoor Activities
-- Tours
This is based on selected interests or ratings from the member community.
- Also the app can show Partner sponsored recommendations with offers/coupons.

8) Profile Page:
- User will be able to view and update his personal information from this page.
- User can see a timeline of the vacations he took over his lifetime, the client like how google+ stories did this.
- User can see virtual awards (icons) he won from using the app, suggest ideas on how this can work!

9) Members Forum Page:
- This forum is going to be specific to the vacation spot/property, and not an open ended forum, think how can you reflect this in your design?
- User can open members specific forum and post what he has in his mind to share with other members of the app.

10) Rate Page:
- User can rate local activities and restaurant and influence sorting for non-Partner sponsored recommendations.

11) Refer Page:
- Heath can refer friends to take this trip by adding

-- Address
-- email.
- Referrals are saved to the member profile and can be used to continually share pics / the experience

12) Surveys Page:
- User can also take end of trip summary survey to state what he loved about this trip.
- User can take lightweight surveys to collect interests "what are you looking forward to", Adeona gears the surveys based upon the property, so they can Gather likes/interest from the member.

13) Contact Adeona Page:
- User can contact Adeona from this page.

Important:
- Keep things consistent. This means all graphic styles should work together.
- All of the graphics should have a similar feel and general aesthetic appearance

Target User:
- People who take vacations with Adeona Company.

Judging Criteria:
- How well you plan the user experience and capture your ideas visually
- Cleanliness of your graphics and design
- Your design should possible to build and make sense as a mobile application

Please create your preview image as one (1) 1024x1024px JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode at 72dpi and place a screenshot of your submission within it.

Submission File
Submit JPG/PNG for your submission files.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design. Files should be created in Adobe Photoshop and saved as layered PSD file, or Adobe Illustrator as a layered AI file.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. We may ask you to update your design or graphics based on checkpoint feedback.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
