Challenge Summary

Welcome to the "IBM SnapThx Mobile App Design Concept Challenge"!

Our client wants a very simple, fun, easy-to-use, quick mobile version of sending a personalized "thank you" message to other employees via their mobile device. Similar to other photo + chat apps, IBM wants to quickly design and build a mobile application that allows the user to take a picture or selfie on their mobile device, select from pre-loaded backgrounds / scenes which have space in the image for text, add a personalized message, then preview a newly rendered version of that image, or go back and try a different scene, etc. Once a picture from the camera, or image from the gallery has been selected and the personalized background is complete, the user will enter an employee/recipient name which will be expedited using IBM's type ahead API (to quickly search for, and suggest a list of employees while typing). Once a recipient has been chosen the user can then click send and the "thanks" will be posted to IBM's internal social platform, IBM Connections (via API).

Challenge Goals
Create a design concept and click paths of the SnapThx mobile (IOS 7+ and Android 4.4+ <KitKat> for both phones and tablets) application used to give a personalized photo (from gallery or camera) to other employees within the client's organization to show their gratitude to co-workers. This app should be a very quick & simple UX that allows end users to snap a photo (could be selfie), pick from one of the *included* backgrounds / scenes, personalize it with a message, and then select a recipient using IBM's type-ahead API to lookup a contact. Once the picture, scene, message, and recipient have all been selected, the app will render a new image by merging the photo + background + text (thank you) message. Please read more details below!

User Scenario
Jenny is a fairly new employee who is still learning her way around the company. She has received a great deal of help from her colleague Bob who has spent a great deal of time helping Jenny find the right tools, internal contacts, various forms, and has also taught her about the company culture. Jenny was able to ramp-up quickly and wants to thank Bob personally, but also give Bob public recognition to their collegaues and superiors within their IBM Connections (IBM Social Platform) network. Jenny is told by another coworker about this cool new mobile app called SnapThx, that will allow her to post a photo of herself, pick a fun background, and write a short note expressing her gratitude. The mobile app will render the image an post it on Bob's IBM Connections board for his manager and colleagues to see.
