Challenge Summary

Welcome to Appirio EMEA Sales - Presentation Design Challenge - Part 1. In this challenge, we are looking to your help in coming up with designs for the given concept and these designs will be used as a slide within a presentation.

At the end of this challenge, we are looking a simple and cool icons/graphics (PNG’s/AI) for the given concepts that can be used in EMEA sales presentation.

In this challenge, we have shared a document that needs to converted to a presentation - this document has below sections:
1. Rationale of crowdsourcing
2. Introduction to Appirio Crowdsourcing Platform
3. Case Studies
4. Phased Approach to Adoption
5. FAQs

For this challenge, you will creating designs for sections 1, 2, and 4...
(Note that: you will need to come up with more number of slides for each of the sections as per the given concepts.)

Design Considerations (IMPORTANT!!):
- Please follow the current styling from the attached PPT “IBM Mobile First ISS FIT.pptx and topcoder.pptx” (source files provided)..
- You can look to include topcoder/appirio logo (source files attached), wherever appropriate.
- Below text should give you a basic concept idea on what the content of the graphic need to be and you can find more explanation about each of the section in the “EMEA Sales.docx”
- Note that, the given docx has a lot of text in it and we are not expecting the entire content to be shown visually, we are looking for ideas on how these the basic concept/idea within each of the section can be shown in-combination of “graphics + text”..however we would like you to keep the text as minimum as possible.
- Please have the slide dimension as 1280 x 720 pixels at 72dpi resolution.

Required Designs:
Below sections which you are designing will be used as a slide within the presentation..
(note that, below sections numbers are based on the given document and you will be required to design more number of slides per section based on the concept)

1. The Rationale of Crowdsourcing:
- This section explains a set of reasons for crowdsourcing by explaining it in three sub-sections..
- How can this section be shown in the presentation, please go through the document for more details on this section!
- You can add as many slides designs as required to show below concepts..

1.1. Why Opportunity has risen:
- This explains the need/opportunity that risen in the recent years and what is expected from the shareholders of a company..
- See where and how designs can be introduced for these sections..

1.2. The reality of how innovation works within many corporates:
- This need to show a simple scenario by explaining the duties of CEO, Digital Director, CIO/CTO, HR Director, COO, Procurement Director within a corporate and how the trends changes from year to year making it difficult for a CEO to keep up the promise given to shareholders.

1.3 An Alternate Sourcing Model:
- This explains the advantage of the crowdsourcing model..and how this model can withstand the change in trend/technologies.

2. Introduction to Appirio Crowdsourcing Platform:
- This section explains about Appirio Crowdsourcing platform..
- How can the below points can be shown in your designs for presentation, looking for your ideas..
- You can add as many slides designs as required to show below concepts.
- We have five sub-sections under this section, these are explained below…

2.1 What it is?
- This explains about the Appirio Crowdsourcing platform based on three primary components namely “Community, Competition Process and Appirio Platform”
- See how these components can be shown in your designs?

2.2 What it delivers?
- This explains about the tracks (Design, Development and Data Science) at topcoder..
- For this slide, you can probably reuse design slide 6 from topcoder.ppt but make sure to include the contents as given in document..feel free to change the layout to accommodate the content...any suggestions to improve this?

2.3 Business Case Drivers
- This explains about the difference between Crowdsourcing and Outsourcing, information in this section are distributed as six points
- Come up with ideas on how these can be shown in the presentation.

2.4 Why it is Unique?
- This explains the uniqueness of Appirio Crowdsourcing platform compared with other crowdsourcing models.

2.5 Who is using it?
- We need to show list of companies that had used this platform, you can just show how the logos of these companies can be show in your presentations, for now please use a placeholder for logo.
- Any ideas on how this need to be shown?

4. Phased Approach to Adoption:
- This section need to shows the different phases on how crowdsourcing is adopted by customers.
- Can these phases be depicted as a flow in some way?
- You can add as many slides designs as required to show below concepts.
- It would be good to have each of these phases in its own slide, feel free to create additional designs based on required content for each of the phases.

4.1 Phase 1 - Test and Learn:
- This phase allows new customers to test and learn about crowdsourcing..
- “We need to show that initial cost of the challenge will be on Appirio on the basis that customer is prepared to schedule a workshop with key members from the customers team to introduce crowdsourcing and launch the first challenge. This launch of a challenge, will help them experience the process and customer can expect 7 designs in 7 days.”
- We have also given an example of a recent challenge that was for Barclays, think on how these statistics can be shown in your designs.
- We are looking for your ideas on how the above information within quotes can be shown in the presentation, come up with a visualization of this!

4.2 Phase 2 - Project:
- This phase explains what is required from the customer in their long-term relationship with the Appirio Crowdsourcing platform.
- We are looking for ideas on how this information can be shown in the presentation, wherever possible come up with design ideas for text that can be conveyed visually and include the text wherever it cannot be represented visually..finally we are looking for this phase to be as simple and easy to understand.

4.3 Phase 3 - Subscription:
- This phase allows the customer to go for license based model after having experienced crowdsourcing, and a successful “proof of concept” from the previous phase.
- This discusses mostly about the pricing and service packages involved, please come up with ideas on how this can be shown in your designs..

4.4 Phase 4 - Portal:
- Once the customer adopts, many clients go for a “White label” portal “Powered by Appirio”.
- Going forward customer will be able to have a self-service model embedded into their business activities.

- Capability to explode the initial concept into a presentation..
- Originality and design execution.
- Quality of graphics

Submissions & Source File Requirements:
Submission File
All requested screens as JPG or PNG files at 72dpi.

Source Files
All original source files of the submitted design should be created in Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator and saved as layered files (PSD/AI respectively).

Preview Image
Create a 1024x1024 JPG or PNG file in RGB color mode and place a screenshot from your submission within it.

Final Fixes
As part of the final fixes phase, you may be asked to modify your graphics (sizes or colors) or modify overall colors. We may ask you to update your design or graphics based on checkpoint feedback.

Please read the challenge specification carefully and watch the forums for any questions or feedback concerning this challenge. It is important that you monitor any updates provided by the client or Studio Admins in the forums. Please post any questions you might have for the client in the forums.

  • If your submission wins, your source files must be correct and “Final Fixes” (if applicable) must be completed before payment can be released.
  • You may submit as many times as you'd like during the submission phase, but only the number of files listed above in the Submission Limit that you rank the highest will be considered. You can change the order of your submissions at any time during the submission phase. If you make revisions to your design, please delete submissions you are replacing.

Winner Selection

Submissions are viewable to the client as they are entered into the challenge. Winners are selected by the client and are chosen solely at the client's discretion.

Your Design Files:

  1. Look for instructions in this challenge regarding what files to provide.
  2. Place your submission files into a "Submission.zip" file.
  3. Place all of your source files into a "Source.zip" file.
  4. Declare your fonts, stock photos, and icons in a "Declaration.txt" file.
  5. Create a JPG preview file.
  6. Place the 4 files you just created into a single zip file. This will be what you upload.
